Bio
Hailing from Madison, Connecticut, Levis was a three-year letterman at Xavier High School. As a senior, Levis broke the school’s record for passing yards (2,793) and passing touchdowns (27). Levis also played baseball for Xavier, all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. However, Levis was not a highly touted recruit. While he was the second highest player in Connecticut, he was just a three-star recruit on 247Sports. Levis committed to Penn State in what turned out to be a loaded class; Levis was the second lowest recruit in their class. Penn State’s 2018 recruiting class ranked 6th nationally, with future pros Micah Parsons, Jahan Dotson, Pat Freiermuth, and Jayson Oweh. The class also saw prospects in this class such as Justin Shorter and Juice Scruggs.
Penn State
Levis redshirted his freshman year. However, in three years on campus at Penn State, Levis appeared in just 14 games and attempted just over 100 passes. He was used more as a rusher, but his playing time was still limited. This led to him entering the transfer portal, where he eventually chose to play at Kentucky.
Kentucky
Levis was replacing Terry Wilson at Kentucky, a Kentucky team that attempted just 243 passes in an 11-game season. That changed when Levis came to town. Levis completed 66 percent of his 353 attempts and throwing 24 touchdowns. Levis added nearly 400 yards on the ground as well. But a more impressive accomplishment was the rise of Kentucky’s program; the Wildcats were ranked as high as 11th before suffering their first loss to Georgia.
Levis entered his senior year with first round and Heisman hype. Unfortunately, he never made that leap many expected. And unfortunately, neither did Kentucky. Ranked as high as 7th nationally, Kentucky went 4-4 to close the season and finished 3-5 in the SEC. Levis’s play was similar to his junior season, despite having little to no NFL caliber players on the offense. In just two years, Levis ranks 6th all time for Kentucky for career passing yards and 4th in passing touchdowns.

Bottom Line:
Once trending as the potential first overall selection in April’s NFL Draft, Levis finds himself firmly as the QB4 in this class. He did play through injury and with less talent than others in his class. Levis has experience in a pro style offense. Unlike many college quarterbacks, Levis had experience playing under center. He offers good size and is mobile, what many teams look for in today’s game. However, there are some areas of growth for Levis. He has to reduce the turnovers; his 3.6 percent interception rate was the worse among the top-four prospects. While he has a strong arm, he had a high percentage of attempts coming behind the line of scrimmage. In the right offense, this could be forgotten rather quickly if Levis can showcase his talented arm.
For superflex dynasty rookie drafts, Levis will find himself towards the back end of the first round. The range is likely mid first to early second round. In one quarterback dynasty rookie drafts, Levis will likely find himself late second round. Draft capital will play a factor; if for some reason Levis falls similar to how quarterbacks did last year, it will reflect in his rookie draft stock.
