This week 7 will go down as one of the hardest start and sit weeks of the season. We have many of the top tier fantasy options out this week. WIth this being said I am here to help you navigate what has been dubbed “byeapocalypse ”.

Start and Sit Quarterbacks

Start: Matt Ryan (QB) Atlanta Falcons

Matt Ryan is currently QB24 on the season while averaging over 18 points per game. Definitely not what many expected considering the nature of the team and the need to pass a majority of the time. This week he should out perform his yearly average in a matchup with the Dolphins. The Miami Dolphins currently rank 9th worst allowing over 21 points a week to the position. On top of the favorable matchup Matt Ryan should gain Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage this week. These two huge pieces will help increase Matt Ryans upside. He will have high end QB2 upside this week and should be in your starting lineup if you roster him.

Sit: Geno Smith (QB) Seattle Seahawks

In Russell Wilson’s absence Geno Smith stepped in against the Pittsburgh Steelers. They managed to stay in the game for some time, however Geno Smith did not impress as a fantasy asset. In a week many top quarterback options are on byes, Geno may be on your mind. He should not be though, in an offense that wants to run the ball a lot he has little volume. On top of this they face the New Orleans Saints who rank as the 2nd best against Quarterbacks this season. They have only allowed 13.8 points a week to the position. WIth all of this I have him as a must sit this week, even in SuperFlex.

Start and Sit Running Backs

Start: Chuba Hubbard (RB) Carolina Panthers

Another season where we lost Christian McCaffery to injury, in his place Chuba Hubbard has been filling in admirably. In the three and a half games filling in for him Hubbard as totaled over 250 yards, and one touchdown. He has also seen 16 targets, in which he has turned into 78 yards. Chuba Hubbard has produced three double digit PPR weeks in the last four weeks. This week they travel to New York to face off against the Giants. This is a favorable matchup for him and the the Panthers. The Giants are 7th worst against the running back position, allowing over 29 PPR points a week. In a week in which McCaffery will miss again  Chuba Hubbard is a must start. He has RB1 upside with an RB2 floor.

Sit: Browns Running Backs

In one of the best backfields in the NFL we have had two terrible injures that have the top two starters sitting out this week. This is not the best situation as they will rely on D’Ernest Johnson and Demetric Felton. Both have shown an ability to flash when given the opportunity. However this is a tough task facing a stout Denver defense. Denver ranks fourth best against the position allowing only 17.6 points a week. With this and the rest of the Browns injuries I am staying away from any running back in this backfield this week.

Start and Sit Wide Receivers

Start: Darnell Mooney (WR) Chicago Bears

A popular breakout candidate this offseason has begun to sign in a weak Chicago offense. The Bears are missing star running back David Montgomery again this week. They will have Khalil Herbert and possibly Damien Williams in the back field to help control the clock against a high scoring Buccaneers offense. Against the Buccaneers defense I do not expect this to happen. In turn Justin Fields will need to air it out this week against a week secondary. The Buccaneers rank 6th worst against wide receivers allowing over 42 PPR points a week. With this and the fact that and the fact Darnell Mooney has seen 20 targets in the past three weeks. He has produced two double digit fantasy weeks in PPR formats over that span. Fields likes to target Darnell Mooney a lot I expect WR2 upside for him this week, making him a must start.

Fantasy football

Sit: Tyler Lockett (WR) Seattle Seahawks

A player who has always carried a boom or bust factor to his fantasy game is in his bust phase. Over the last four weeks he hasn’t produced only one double digit fantasy week. He has only produced 29.7 PPR points over that span. He produced 57 over the first two weeks. Facing off against the New Orleans Saints and having Geno Smith at the helm does not bode well for him. New Orleans only allows 40 PPR points to the position weekly currently. They are finally getting back to full health, which should only help improve this number. I expect Tyler Lockett to continue his struggles this week and should be a sit if possible this week.

Start and Sit Tight Ends

Start: CJ Uzomah (TE) Cincinnati Bengals

CJ Uzomah has fallen off the radar after his huge week in Week 4 when he went for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns. However last week he had a solid week in which he saw 3 targets for 15 yards and a touchdown. He is currently the TE18 in PPR scoring. In a week where the Bengals will face off against division rival Baltimore Joe Burrow may need to look Cj Uzomah’s way a few more times. Baltimore is currently ranked second worst in fantasy points allowed to tight ends. They allow over 19 PPR points a week to the position. I expect CJ Uzomah to find 5 targets and a touchdown this week in an easy matchup. This makes him a must start for me in a week that our options are slim for streamers.

Sit: Mo Alie-Cox (TE) Indianapolis Colts

As we see Carson Wentz getting healthy we see the Colts offense starting to hit on all cylinders. Which has created some fantasy viability to their tight end position. Mo Alie-cox has emerged as the guy to own of the trio. In Week 4 he saw 5 targets in which he took for 42 yards and 2 touchdowns. Aldo last week he saw 3 targets which he took for 28 yards and a touchdown. In a week we need to find starters, I am looking else where even with his recent success. The Colts face off against the 49ers, who rank fourth best against the position allowing only 8.2 points to the position. I expect something similar this week for Mo Alie-cox. He is going to struggle to produce tight end one numbers this week, making him a sit for me.
