Injuries to Monitor

Zach Wilson is still in concussion protocol and will miss this game.

Kareem Hunt is listed as questionable  ut has been on the injury report for the last few weeks and has played.

Dustin Hopkins left last week with an injured hamstring and will be out for this game.

 

Breakdown

It’s the last Thursday Night game of the season. The Jets head to Cleveland to face the Browns.

The Jets have won two of their last three games scoring 30 points in the wins while getting shutout by Miami in the loss. Their defense has been the strength of the team but has allowed 58 total points in their last two games.

The Browns are on a three game winning streak averaging 29 points per game over that span. They’ve been carried by their defense but have looked good offensively since Flacco has taken over. The Browns are also better at home defensively.

I expect both defenses to get pressure here and this game could be sloppy. Obviously that puts the defenses in play and I might even have a lineup or two with both of them in.

The good thing about this game is that it’s pretty clear who to target. Breece and Wilson on the Jets and Cooper and Njoku on the Browns. They’ll be in the bulk of my lineups with Flacco, Ford, Hunt and Conklin mixed in.

 

Captain/Flex

Amari Cooper $16,800/$11,200

Cooper is coming off a monster game with 11 catches 265 yards and two TDs. While I wouldn’t expect a game like that against this Jets defense but he can be more than serviceable with the target share he’s seeing with Flacco. He has a 25% target share since Flacco took over and is averaging 10.5 catches and 19.4 yards per reception.

Breece Hall $16,500/$11,000

Breece is also coming off a monster game. He leads all RBs in targets, receptions and receiving yards since Week 12. The Browns have a great defense but can give up big plays from time to time and Breece is certainly capable. He’s heavily involved enough with big play upside that warrants a play at Captain.

David Njoku $11,700/$7,800

Njoku has at least six receptions in three straight games and has scored four times in those games. Since Flacco took over, Njoku has averaged 9.3 targets, six catches and 64 yards. The Jets have allowed the 2nd most TDs to opposing TEs this season.

Garrett Wilson $14,700/$9,800

There’s two guys on this Jets offense and Wilson is one of them. He’s put up some duds but is involved enough to have some good games as well. He has two games with nine catches in his last three. He had target totals of 15 and 14 in those games and has a 30% target share on the year.

Flex

Joe Flacco $10,600

Flacco has been one of the best stories in football since coming off the couch. He leads the league in passing yards since Week 13 and has thrown multiple TDs in each game. The upside might not be there against a tough Jets defense but he’s absolutely in play on what should be a lower scoring slate.

Jerome Ford $8,400

Ford is getting a good amount of carries but hasn’t done much with them lately. He’s failed to top 25 rushing yards in three of his last four games. He has been used in the receiving game with at least four receptions in three of his last five games. The Jets are more susceptible to RBs than WRs so you can make a case there.

Elijah Moore $6,600

Moore hasn’t been heavily involved lately. He only has four catches and 36 yards combined in his last two games. His ceiling is probably only four catches for 50 yards. It’s possible they give him some extra opportunities against his old team but I’m not crazy about his output at this salary.

Trevor Siemian $8,800

Siemian threw for 217 yards on 49 pass attempts last week. This Cleveland defense has been too good especially at home for me to get excited about playing Siemian. The Jets passing game is consolidated enough that my exposure to it will be through the pass catchers.

CLE DEF $5,600
NYJ DEF $4,000

Both defenses are absolutely in play and have been usable pieces most of the season. In a game with a low total on a short week they’re good mid range options.

Kareem Hunt $5,200

Since Week 6, Hunt has averaged 10.4 carries. He’s not very productive when it comes to yardage but does have some TD upside. He’s scored eight times this year.

Tyler Conklin $5,000

Conklin has at least four catches in four of his last five games. He’s second on the team behind Wilson in targets, receptions and yards. He doesn’t have much upside but will be involved.

Xavier Gibson $3,200
Jason Brownlee 2,800

Gibson will see a couple targets and possibly a rushing attempt. He hasn’t been able to do much with them outside of 77 yards in Week 13. He also has an opportunity to score on Kick/Punt returns.
Brownlee replaced Lazard in last weeks game playing 82% of the snaps. He caught one of three targets for a TD.

Neither has much upside but could be a cheap piece at the bottom of lineups.

Cedric Tillman $3,000

Tillman has at least two catches in five straight weeks with 55 yards being his highest output over that span.

David Bell $1,600

Bell hasn’t been heavily involved and likely could come away with a catch or two.

Allen Lazard $2,400

Lazard is slowly losing his role in this offense after being downright bad this season. He should be looked at as a cheap TE. You can hope for a couple catches or a miracle TD.
