START/SIT ASSIST | TRADE CALCULATOR
The playoffs have arrived, along with Covid and many injuries. Even in a week without byes it is seemingly getting harder to set a playoff lineup this week. Luckily I am here with a few start/sit options to help you win your playoff matchup.
Quarterback Week 15 Start/Sit
Start: Kirk Cousins (Minnesota Vikings)
In a week that is a must win for everyone, we should look no further than mister reliable. Last week in a game without star wide receiver Adam Thielen he did not miss a beat. Kirk Cousins threw for 2 touchdowns a victory over the Steelers. He managed to produce 16 fantasy points, this was his lowest total since Week 9. He has produced 20 plus performances every other week. It just so happens this is the week he could get it done again. Facing a weakened Bears defense who gives up the third most fantasy points to quarterbacks. I anticipate Kirk cousins finishing as a QB1 this week and is a must start in the Week 15 Start/Sit column.
Sit: Carson Wentz (Indianapolis Colts)
As of late Carson Wentz has begun to be an unpredictable start, he has only one 20 plus point performance in the last four weeks. Since Week 10 he has had performances of 7,10, 22, and 11 fantasy points. These are far from glowing numbers. In a tough matchup with the Patriots on Saturday night I expect to see a lot of Jonathan Taylor and a little bit of Carson Wentz. The Patriots are second best in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. Only allowing 12 points a week currently. I think Carson Wentz will be lucky to reach that 12 point total for this he is a must sit in my Week 15 Start/Sit column.
Running Back Week 15 Start/Sit
Start: Myles Gaskin (Miami Dolphins)
Although he is on the COVID list currently there is a chance that Myles Gaskin will play sunday versus the Jets. Over Miamis 5 game win streak Myles Gaskin has been producing at a high level, he has three double digit fantasy point weeks over this span as well. He has see at least 17 opportunities a week over the last 5 weeks. Even with the arrival of Phillip Lindsay, who I would start if Gaskin misses, the production has not diminished. This week the Dolphins face off against the Jets who allow the most fantasy points to running backs in PPR formats currenlty. They average over 36 points week to the position. I expect RB2 number out of whoever starts for the Dolphins this week, making them a must start in my Week 15 Start/Sit column.
Sit: Devin Singletary (Buffalo Bills)
Over the last couple weeks the Bills running backs have provided us with a decent flex option. Whether it was Matt Bredia or Devin SIngletary, someone was giving us double digit points. Last week we saw a 14 point performance from Devin Singletary. As we head into Week 15 I don’t expect any bills running back to have any viability. The Bills have steered away from the run again in 2021, Devin Singletary only has 112 carries all season. As they prepare to face the Panthers who rank allow the third fewest points to running backs this season, I am not looking to start him. THis is why he is a must sit in Week 15.
Wide Receiver Week 15 Start/Sit
Start: Darnell Mooney (Chicago Bears)
Since the Bears bye week Darnell Mooney has had a few up and down weeks. He produced two 120 plus yard performances, along with two sub 30 yard performances. Well looking into the numbers we see the two down games were against two of the tougher pass defenses in the league. One thing that is true is his target volume he continues to see 5-10 targets on average, for a player who averages over 14 yards a reception this is plenty to be viable. This week the Bears face the Vikings who allow the most PPR points to wide receivers a week. They currently allow over 45 points to the position. I expect Darnell Mooney to see a fair amount of targets this week, this should result in a boom week. I can see a WR2 finish this week, for this reason he is a must start in my Week 15 Start/Sit column.
Sit: DJ Moore (Carolina Panthers)
Last week we just saw Robby Anderson go off and finish as a WR1, however DJ Moore saw 10 targets for the second straight week. He took those for 6 receptions and 84 yards. Scoring a modest 14.4 PPR points for the week. This was his third week in a row of double digit points. However this week he draws the BIlls who rank first in fantasy points allowed to wide receivers. Only allowing 26 points a week currently, however the loss of Tre’Davious White showed last week against Tampa Bay. The biggest concern for DJ Moore this week is the Quarterback, the Bills did give up a lot last week to a Quarterback named Tom Brady. This was their first time giving up a 400 plus yard passing game all year. I expect a bounce back from the Bills in a must win game at home. For this reason I see DJ Moore having a hard time breaking the double digit plateau. This makes him a must sit for me in my Week 15 Start/Sits.
Tight End Week 15 Start/Sit
Start: Hunter Henry (New England Patriots)
This season Hunter Henry has emerged as the tight end to roster in New England. He has 5 double digit point weeks coming into Week 15. Over the last three weeks he has had a few down performances, however seen 3-5 targets a game. In a game I expect to be hard fought and won through play action I expect Hunter Henry to see the upper range of targets, most likely 5-8. This is great news as the Colts are allowing the third most fantasy points to tight ends this season. They average over 16 PPR points a week. I can see Hunter Henry finishing as a mid to low end TE1 this week and for that he is a must start in Week 15.
Sit: Kyle Pitts (Atlanta Falcons)
It has been rough sledding for the rookie TIght End this season. At this week looks to be no different. over the last four week he has only produced on double digit fantasy point week. ALthough seeing 5-7 targets a game he has just not been able to produce much with his opportunities. So in a tough matchup against the 49ers who are currently fourth best in fantasy points allow to tight ends, I am looking to pass on Kyle Pitts. THey are only allowing 8 PPR points a week to the position and this is what I expect out of Kyle Pitts this week. This will be a low end TE2 and should not be started in any format.
