Week 11 Thursday Night Showdown on Draftkings

Bengals vs Ravens Draftkings Showdown

Showdown Captain mode is a DraftKings tournament where you have $50,000 to create a lineup using 6 players from a standalone single game. One of those players will be your captain. The captain costs 1.5 times their salary and will accumulate 1.5 times the points. As with every slate, GAME THEORY IS INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT. Even more so in Showdown, you want your lineup to tell a story of how the game will go. There are a lot of options based on how you see the game going but ALWAYS make sure there’s correlation between your players.

Breakdown

We actually get a good game with two good teams in a Prime time game.

Fantasy football

The 5- 4 Bengals head to Baltimore currently sitting in last place in the division. They’re two games behind the 7-3 Ravens.

Cincinnati comes off a close loss to the Texans but had previously beaten the Bulls and 49ers in back to back games. Over the last three weeks the Bengals are averaging 307.7 passing yards per game which is 3rd most. They’ve also averaged 27.3 points per game which is tied for 5th most over that span.

Baltimore blew a big lead at home to lose to the Browns. They had previously won four straight games and have scored over 30 points in four straight games. They’ve allowed a league low 15.7 points per game this season but have allowed 20 points per game over their last three games whichbis bottom eight over that span.

I like playing this game two ways. As an absolute shootout or a slow paced low scoring AFC North slugfest.

In either game script I like JaMarr Chase the most and likely won’t be alone. Even in a lower scoring game if his typical upside is capped he can still pay off. I’ll have some Burrow with him as well but definitely like some lineups with just Chase hoping the bulk of Burrow’s production goes through him. Mixon is certainly in play and his price point could lower his ownership considering the guys around him salary wise.

The Baltimore side is a little more complicated. Obviously Lamar and Andrews stick out as great plays. Especially Andrews at his price. They do get the RBs involved quite a bit as well. It’ll probably come down to whether the TDs come through the air or on the ground. If I’m targeting the RBs I like Edwards for the volume and TD upside but definitely have to sprinkle in some Keaton Mitchell.

Captain/Flex

JaMarr Chase $16,500/$11,000

Chase has a 29.4% target share and with Higgins out in this one he could easily see double digit targets. The Ravens have been good against WRs thisbyear but it only takes one long one to completely change Chase’s day.

Mark Andrews $13,200/$8,800

Andrews is averaging 12.1 yards per reception which is 3rd highest among TEs. He also has six TDs which is the most among TEs. The Bengals have allowed the 3rd most points to opposing TEs this season.

Joe Burrow $15,000/$10,000

Burrow seems to have fully recovered from any injury concerns and it’s shown. Over the last three weeks Burrow has averaged 326 yards per game and has thrown seven TDs over that span. Similar to Chase, his upside could be slightly capped but he could still be the highest scorer on a one game slate.

Lamar Jackson $16,200/$10,800

Lamar has been up and down and overall has been good. He’s averaged 22 DraftKings points per game. He also has the most rushing yards and attempts among QBs. The Bengals have allowed 7.8 yards per pass attempt which is 3rd highest in the league.

The Rest

Joe Mixon $9,600

Mixon hasn’t been incredible this year but he’s getting a ton of work. He’s averaging 16.3 touches per game. Mixon has had at least three receptions in four of hisblast five games. He’s scored a TD in three straight games.

Zay Flowers $7,600

Flowers has a 25% target share and has been targeted on 22% of his routes run. He’s lacked in the TD department but has averaged five receptions per game. Cincy is allowing 15.1 yards per reception which is highest in the league.

Tyler Boyd $6,800

Boyd has been good when Higgins isbout of the lineup. Eight receptions 117 yards and a TD last week and he dropped a would be game winning TD. While maybe we can’t expect that production, Boyd should still be in line for a healthy workload.

Gus Edwards $7,000

Edwards has the 4th most carries inside the five yard line this year. He already has eight TDs this year. He’s averaging 12.1 carries per game which is easily the most of this backfield.

Keaton Mitchell $5,600

Mitchell looks to be an absolute freak. He’s averaged 14.3 yards per carry. A total of 200 yards from scrimmage the last two weeks on limited touches. The usage is a concern but he is so explosive it only takes a couple touches.

Odell Beckham $5,200

Beckham has been an afterthought this year but has been slightly more productive recently. He’s scored a TD each of the last two weeks and has at least five catches in two of his last three games.

Trenton Irwin $4,400

Irwin will get some opportunities and has a good chance at a TD. When he’s seen playing time he’s been productive. He had 54 yards and a TD last week. He had eight catches and 60 yards in Week 5 when Higgins missed.

Rashod Bateman $4,800

Bateman really hasn’t been good. He’s averaging 1.9 catches per game. It’s possible that he could be a good play on a one game slate but I’d rather him be much cheaper considering his usage.

Justice Hill $2,800

It’s hard to predict the usage in this backfield but it’s even harder to predict Hill’s usage. He had two carries last week and 13 the week before. He did have a TD called back last week. A TD at this price would more than pay off.

Tanner Hudson $2,600

Hudson has back to back games with at least four catches. Last week he had six catches on seven targets.

Irv Smith $3,000

Drew Sample $400

I prefer Hudson only because he’s trending upward in usage. He could absolutely bet out snapped by one of these two. The scenario is very similar to the Ravens backfield. They all have a chance at a TD and picking the right one pays off huge at their salaries.

Isaiah Likely $600

Likely hasn’t really done much all year but is talented. A couple catches could pay off this price.
