As we begin the final quarter of the season the Week 10 start and sit decisions are even harder. Add in a week with four teams on byes including the Giants, Bengals, Bears and Texans. As a result most of us will be missing some of our top fantasy producers. That’s why I am here to help you find the perfect starts and sits for Week 10.
Quarterback Start and Sit
Start: Ben Roethlisberger (Pittsburgh Steelers)
It has been very apparent this season that the best performances are behind Ben Roethlisberger. Currently he is QB27 on the season while averaging 13.76 points a week. He has only thrown one 300 yard game this season, and two multi touchdown games. However this week he has the best matchup a quarterback could ask for in the Detroit Lions. They are currently 31st in points allowed to quarterbacks allowing over 25 points a week. I expect Ben to rebound this week and produce high end QB2 numbers this week. This makes him a must start for me in superflex leagues and a decent bye week fill in for 1QB leagues.
Sit: Mike White (New York Jets)
The cinderella storey that has been Mike White has been great so far this season. The Jets have looked much better under White in his limit action. He has become a startable option in SuperFlex leagues. However this week is not the week you want to test his abilities in your fantasy lineup. I know the jokes are on the Bills after laying a dud against the JAgs last sunday. However the Bills defense continued its dominant play. They held Trevor Lawrence to only 118 yards and 5.1 fantasy points. If I have to fill a bye week starter I am looking else where this week as the matchup makes Mike White a must sit in my Week 10 start and sits .
Running Back Start and Sit
Start: James Conner (Arizona Cardinals)
In what should be a no brainer some may need to hear this, start James Conner! As the true lead guy last week for a majority of the game Conner put up the RB1 finish of the week. He looked very good against a solid 49ers defense. His 35 point week propelled him into the RB1 ranks on the season landing as the RB11 currently. This week he draws the Carolina Panthers who have been allowing over 25 points a week in PPR scoring to running backs. If Kyler Murray sits again due to injury it will only increase Conners chances of duplicating last weeks performance. As a result he is an absolute must start for me in my Week 10 start and sits.
Sit: Antonio Gibson (Washington Football Team)
In what seemed like the year Antonio Gibson was going to break out the exact opposite happened. He has made no progress in taking over a lead role. JD McKissic counties to be the guy in important situations and all passing situations. Due to this Antonio Gibson has not seen a week over 3 targets since week 1. Along with this he has not seen a week with over 15 carries since week 5. That was also his last double digit fantasy point week with 21.2 in PPR scoring. This week he faces the tough Tampa Bay front seven who are only allowing 20 points to the position weekly currently. With everything listed above I have to sit Antonio Gibson this week if possible, I expect another single digit week unfortunately.
Wide Receiver Start and Sit
Start: Deonte Harris (New Orleans)
With Trevor Siemian under center the New Orleans offense has not skipped a beat. With this being said a new favorite target has emerged. That is Deonte Harris, He has seen 15 targets in the past two weeks. He has turned that into 87 yards and 19.9 PPR points. The numbers are not eye popping by any means, however in a week you may be strapped at the flex position he could be a nice flex play. This is due to the matchup in the Tennessee Titans, they currently allow over 45 points to the position weekly. Due to this he is a serviceable fill in this week if needed and can be started.
Sit: Marvin Jones (Jacksonville Jaguars)
Marvin Jones started off the season fairly hot with three double digit weeks in a row. However since then he has cooled off alot, only having one big game against the Dolphins in Week 6. Since their Week 7 bye week he has only produced 13.6 PPR points. The Jaguars are struggling to move the ball on offense currently. On top of this rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence is now battling an ankle injury. Then to toss the final fuel on the fire, they face off against a tough Indianapolis defense this week. The Colts average 38 points to wide receivers weekly currently, this is 18th in the NFL. I am more worried about the pass rush that will be generated. This will affect the throws and make it tough on the Jaguars skill players. As a result Marvin Jones is a must sit in my Week 10 start and sits.
Tight End Start and Sit
Start: Pat Freiermuth (Pittsburgh Steelers)
It is apparent that Pat freiermuth has officially arrived on the scene. A well rounded tight end out of Penn State has taken the led role opportunity and ran with it. Since the steelers bye week in Week 7 he has 13 targets for 87 yards and 3 touchdowns. This is all good for 35.7 PPR points, if we add in Week 6 h has 50.5 PPR points. He is a force currently in the red zone and Ben Roethlisberger loves to target him. This week he draws a gravy matchup in the Detroit Lions who allow ober 11 PPR points a week to tight ends. I expect Pat Freiermuth to produce TE1 numbers this week, making him a must start in my Week 10 Start and sits.
Sit: Tyler Higbee (Los Angeles Rams)
Tyler Higbee has seen a decnet target share for a tight end in a high powered offense like the Rams. However the fantasy production has not been over whelming this season. He is currently TE13, while totaling 79.4 PPR points. Last Week he saw a season high of 10 targets, he took these for 10.1 PPR points. He has not produced more that 60 yards since Week 1 nor scored a touchdown since Week 5. This week he faced the 49ers who rank as the best team against TEs, allowing only 7.9 PPR points weekley to them. Due to this tough matchup I am avoiding Tyler Higbee if I can this week.
