It only took till week 10 to get a tie game in the National Football League! Many storylines have surfaced this week. Chiefs get back on track. The Lions technically didn’t lose this week. Cam Newton may be what Carolina needs to make a playoff push. It’s another week of football and no matter what the storylines are, there are injuries to talk about. Here is your week 10 injury report.

Aaron Jones, Running Back, Green Bay Packers

The best news came out Monday morning when the Packers announced their star running back sustained a “mild” MCL sprain during Sunday’s win over the visiting Seattle Seahawks. Jones made his way to the blue medical tent to only exit the tent in tears. Fantasy managers expected the worst when seeing their star running back get helped off the field. Jones expects to escape the short term IR, which means he is more than likely missing less than three games. Expect Jones to miss this upcoming week, however, I would not rule him out the following week when Green Bay takes on the Rams in a very important week 12 matchup.

AJ Dillion looked like a man amongst boys in week 10 against the Seahawks, even when Jones was on the field. He becomes an instant fantasy starter in week 11 against the Minnesota Vikings. Dillion needs to be in lineups for however many weeks Aaron Jones is out and should stay on rosters for the rest of the season in case Jones’ injury lingers.

Dallas Goedert, Tight End, Philadelphia Eagles

Goedert left Sunday’s matchup against the Denver Broncos with a concussion after taking a hard hit to his head. He finished the game with a disappointing two catches for 24 yards, leaving fantasy managers who streamed him in a hard position. Goedert will be placed in the concussion protocol, leaving his week 11 status in question. We have seen players return the following week after a concussion, for example Teddy Bridgewater and Rhamondre Stevenson. We have also seen players miss at least a week with a concussion , for example Taysom Hill and Damien Harris. Pay attention to practice reports for Goederts availability in week 11.

Goedert has been fairly disappointing this season with injuries aside. He has totaled four games with double digit fantasy points in full PPR in the nine games he has played. The tight end position is once again horrible making him streamable each week, however, the thoughts of him becoming a clear TE1 are unrealistic. If he clears protocol then he becomes a streaming option again. However, if he is forced to miss a game, stand clear of Eagles tight ends as streaming options in week 11.

Fantasy football

Robert Woods, Wide Receiver, Los Angeles Rams

What a span of a week it has been for Rams wide receivers. Odell Beckham Jr decided being third fiddle in a very good offense was good enough if he had a super bowl chance only to find out he is more than just third fiddle. During practice Friday it was reported Woods tore his ACL and is out for the year. It is a bummer for the veteran wide out as he is going into a year where the Rams have a potential out in his contract if they wanted to move on from him and save a lot of money.

With Woods out, I believe things will stay status quo with the Rams offense for fantasy. Cooper Kupp will continue his fantasy tear and Odell Beckham Jr fills into the Robert Woods role and the number two wide receiver in this offense. Van Jefferson will remain a flier at the position and Mathew Stafford is a QB1 still with OBJ’s addition. It is unfortunate, but not much fantasy difference occurs with this injury news.

Cordarrelle Patterson, Running Back, Atlanta Falcons

Cordarrelle Patterson left Sunday’s game with an ankle injury, only to return to a very limited role. The current diagnosis isn’t as specific as fantasy managers would like. He has reportedly suffered an ankle sprain. There are many reports out there on the severity and whether or not he will miss time. Whether or not Patterson suffered a high ankle sprain or a lateral ankle sprain, he will likely miss week 11 as the Falcons take on the Patriots on Thursday night. It is even possible the team takes a conservative route with Pattersons injury and he misses multiple weeks. Monitor practice reports going into week 12 for his status against the Jacksonville Jaguars in week 12.

If Cordarrelle officially misses week 11, I am officially hands off on all Falcons including rookie tight end Kyle Pitts. Not only are the Patriots notorious for taking away opposing teams first option, without Patterson the Falcons offense won’t have very many scoring chances. As far as Running Backs go, the Falcons paid Mike Davis this offseason. He has been incredibly disappointing this year and fantasy managers should have no confidence putting him in their lineup in any scenario regarding Pattersons health. Unfortunately, it will be tough for Falcon fans this upcoming game, especially with Patterson misses time.
