Opportunity is king when it comes to fantasy football production. Therefore, it is important to be aware of each player’s opportunity share. Past opportunity helps us predict future usage and, in turn, future fantasy output. But I understand that not every fantasy gamer has the time or resources to stay on top of the recent trends. So, I am doing the research for you. As a new weekly series here at Create-A-Rank, I look at every box score, track target share, and snap share. I compile all of the trends that I find useful or interesting here in order to help you make better lineup and roster decisions. Pair this with our weekly rankings, WRs vs CBs Matchups chart, and other articles to give your teams an edge over the competition. Without further ado, here is everything I took away from an exciting Week 4 of targets, trends, and snaps.
Game Day Stats
- Some encouraging news on the Sony Michel front: Michel carried the ball 17 times in the win over the Bills. No other Patriots RB had more than one rush attempt.
- This was the fear with Marlon Mack when Andrew Luck retired. Will he be game-scripted out when they trail? He saw just 11 carries with no targets in the loss to the Raiders. Meanwhile, Nyheim Hines had 6 targets.
- Ronald Jones had a career-high 19 rush attempts. Peyton Barber had 9.
- Chris Godwin still WR1.
- I’ve been patient with OJ Howard but I am ready to hit that panic button. 3-3-33-0 on a day when Winston throws 41 times and the Bucs put up 55 points.
- Jared Goff (68) became just the eighth QB to attempt more than 65 passes in a single game and the first since Brian Griese in 2008. The other seven had a record of 4-3.
Jared Goff’s 68 pass attempts in Week 4 is tied for 3rd all time, only trailing Drew Bledsoe’s 70 in 1994 and Vinny Testaverde’s 69 in 2000. #FantasyFootball

Running Backs
- For the third time in four weeks, Christian McCaffrey played 100-percent of the snaps on Sunday.
- Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman have alternated the majority snap share every week. This week was Freeman’s turn.

- Dede Westbrook saw his snap rate drop from a season average of 83-percent down to 62-percent against the Broncos.
- Julian Edelman played on 95-percent of the Patriots offensive snaps despite still dealing with last week’s ribs injury.
- With the Patriots playing less 11 personnel in Week 4, WR Phillip Dorsett saw his snap rate drop from 92-percent in Week 3 to 62-percent.
- With David Moore healthy and back in the mix, both D.K. Metcalf and Jaron Brown took big hits to their snap rates in Week 4.

Tight Ends
- Bills TE Dawson Knox has seen his snap rate increase in each of the last two weeks and was up to 65-percent in Week 4.
- Demetrius Harris is still pacing Browns TEs in snaps despite the productive day from Ricky Seals-Jones. Although Harris saw a drop in snap rate from 90-percent in Week 3 to 67-percent in Week 4. RSJ was in on 30-percent and Pharaoh Brown on 48-percent.
- Will Dissly’s snap rate (79-percent) was up 24-percent in Week 4 compared to his season average of 55-percent.
