Bio
The football journey for Rashee Rice began at Richland High School in North Richland Hills, Texas where he put up an impressive 1,386 yards and 19 touchdowns in his junior season. He followed that up with another 841 yards and five scores as a senior. It was enough to earn a three-star recruiting status and offers from Washington State, Houston, Texas Tech, SMU, Virginia, UConn, Tulsa, and Northwestern, among others. Rice ultimately chose SMU. He played in 10 games as a true freshman and caught 25 passes for 403 yards and one touchdown. Rice saw a bump in production in his sophomore campaign, finishing the season with 47 receptions for 681 yards and five scores.
Continuing to play second fiddle to WR1 Danny Gray, Rice amassed 682 yards and nine touchdowns on 64 receptions as a junior. Once Gray departed for the NFL in 2022, though, it was on.
In 12 games during his senior season, Rice racked up 96 receptions for 1,344 yards and 10 touchdowns. He ranked third in the nation in receiving yards and was named first-team All-AAC.

Highlight Reel
Archetype: Possession WR
Best Comparable Player: TBD
Draft Projection: Second Round
Bottom Line:
Rashee Rice draws a lot of comparisons to 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. Stylistically, they have some similarities, but Rice isn’t quite as athletic or dynamic as the former first round pick. That’s not to say Rice doesn’t have some exciting traits. Rice is a versatile receiver with good size, excellent ball skills and body control, and just enough speed for defenses to have to respect his vertical game. He’s a threat to eat up yards after the catch, as well. Rice will need to work on refining his route running while also expanding his tree beyond what was asked of him at SMU. He projects as a team’s WR2 or, at best, a 1b. Rice will likely draw draft capital on Day Two and will make for a solid second round selection in dynasty rookie drafts.
