Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offense
Play Caller: Byron Leftwich
Byron Leftwich interviewed with multiple teams this past offseason including the Chicago Bears and Jacksonville Jaguars to be their new head coach but came up empty. As much as I would love to see him land a head coaching gig, I’m not feeling sorry for him, and neither should you. His offense finished last season second in points scored (511), second in total yards (6,901), first in passing yards (5.229), and first in yards per play (6.1). They scored on 44.3% of their possessions with a total of 61 touchdowns, while only turning the ball over 19 times. You could say Mr. Leftwich has it pretty good in Tampa Bay. Oh and did I mention that Tom Brady is coming out of retirement?

“He basically owns the record books”

#12 Tom Brady
Age: 45 HT: 6’4 WT: 225 College: Michigan Draft: RD6 Pick 199
Contract: 1 year / $25,000,000 per year (16th at position) – Expires 2023
There is nothing I can say about Tom Brady that hasn’t already been said. He’s simply the greatest to ever do it. He announced his retirement, but then decided he had some unfinished business and will return for his 23rd season at the ripe age of 45 years young. He basically owns the record books, so I won’t bore you with the details. He’s won more Super Bowls than any franchise in NFL history, and the Bucs just added Julio Jones, Russell Gage, and Rachaad White to an offense that already included Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Leonard Fournette. If Tom Brady can defeat Father Time for one more season, he could lead this franchise to it’s second Super Bowl win in the last three years. Last season, at the age of 44, he set career-highs in pass attempts (719), pass completions (485), and passing yards (5,316). Enough said.
2022 Fantasy Outlook:
Passing: 664 Attempts, 67.2% Comp Rate, 5,098 Yards (7.7 YPA), 39 Touchdowns (5.9%)
Rushing: 27 Attempts, 2.9 YPC, 79 Yards, 1 Touchdown

#7 Leonard Fournette
Age: 27 HT: 6’0 WT: 228 College: LSU Draft: RD1 Pick 4
Contract: 3 years / $7,000,000 per year (10th at position) – Expires 2025
Leonard Fournette did not disappoint in 2021 finishing as the RB6 in PPR scoring. In just 14 games, he had 180 carries for 812 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground and turned 84 targets into 69 receptions for another 454 yards and two scores through the air. He finished third in targets (84), fourth in routes run (323), sixth in target share (14%), and third in red zone touches (54). He also set career-highs with 4.5 yards per carry and 5.1 yards per touch. He’s earned Brady’s trust, but he’s missed 18 games over his five-year career and the Bucs just added Rachaad White who should play a key role in the passing game.
2022 Fantasy Outlook:
Receiving: 8% Target Share, 53 Targets, 40 Receptions, 267 yards (6.7 YPR), 2 Touchdowns
Rushing: 58% Rush Share, 226 Attempts, 973 Yards (4.3 YPC), 9 Touchdowns
#29 Rachaad White
Age: 23 HT: 6’0 WT: 214 College: Arizona State Draft: RD3 Pick 91
Contract: 4 years / $1,282,500 per year (53rd at position) – Expires 2026
Rachaad White was a First-Team Junior College All-American at Mt. San Antonio College before arriving at ASU in 2020. In his first year at ASU, he ran for 420 yards on just 42 carries through four games before the season was cut short due to COVID-19. He averaged an astounding 10 yards per carry and 18.9 yards per reception. I have no doubt he would have been a massive breakout player that season but had to wait until his senior year to truly showcase what he could do. In 2021, he would run for more than 1,000 yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground, while contributing another 456 yards through the air. He’s a dual threat back that can line up in the slot or out wide in the passing game, which he did on 20% of his routes at ASU. He brings more explosiveness in the passing game and has the talent to be a three down back at the NFL level.
2022 Fantasy Outlook:
Receiving: 12% Target Share, 80 Targets, 64 Receptions, 516 yards (8.1 YPR), 3 Touchdowns
Rushing: 30% Rush Share, 117 Attempts, 480 Yards (4.1 YPC), 3 Touchdowns

#13 Mike Evans
Age: 29 HT: 6’5 WT: 231 College: Texas A&M Draft: RD1 Pick 7
Contract: 2 years / $16,500,000 per year (21st at position) – Expires 2024
Mike Evans has started his NFL career with eight straight seasons over 1,000 yards and shows no signs of slowing down. With Brady returning, Chris Godwin coming off a torn ACL, and Rob Gronkowski retired, it’s wheels up for Mike Evans in 2022. He finished last season with 74 grabs for 1,035 yards and a career-high 14 touchdowns. Evans was first in the NFL in targets vs man coverage (408) and finished in the 89th percentile against press coverage with a win rate of 79%. Evans will continue to be a field stretcher that can be dominant at the catch point while also showing the ability to win in the red zone.
2022 Fantasy Outlook:
Receiving: 20% Target Share, 133 Targets, 86 Receptions, 1,234 Yards (14.3 YPR), 11 Touchdowns
“It’s starting to look like Chris Godwin may be ready for Week 1 after all”
#14 Chris Godwin
Age: 26 HT: 6’1 WT: 208 College: Penn State Draft: RD3 Pick 84
Contract: 3 years / $20,000,000 per year (12th at position) – Expires 2025
It’s starting to look like Chris Godwin may be ready for Week 1 after all. He suffered a torn ACL and MCL last season and underwent surgery this past January. Even if he’s ready to go for the season opener, the Bucs will have him on a pitch count through the early part of the season. Godwin finished last season with 127 targets, 98 receptions, 1,103 yards, and five touchdowns in just 14 games. He set new career highs in both targets and receptions and was on pace to set a new career high in yards receiving as well. He’s finished both seasons with Tom Brady with a catch rate over 77% which is impressive for a wide receiver.
2022 Fantasy Outlook:
Receiving: 15% Target Share, 100 Targets, 77 Receptions, 966 Yards (12.5 YPR), 8 Touchdowns
#85 Julio Jones
Age: 33 HT: 6’3 WT: 220 College: Alabama Draft: RD1 Pick 6
Contract: 1 year / $6,000,000 per year (43rd at position) – Expires 2023
Julio Jones makes a lot of sense for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His days as an alpha are gone, but I expect the Bucs to use him as a move tight end at times to replace what Gronk gave them last season. He gives Brady another big target that has an elite wingspan and an ability to make plays in traffic. He played in a run-heavy offense last season with the Titans, so you know he’s excited to be a part of an offense that threw the rock over 700 times in 2021. The key to success for Julio Jones will be his ability to stay healthy. He’s missed 14 games over the last two seasons. There is absolutely a role for Julio Jones in this offense.
2022 Fantasy Outlook:
Receiving: 11% Target Share, 73 Targets, 47 Receptions, 665 Yards (14.1 YPR), 5 Touchdowns
#17 Russell Gage
Age: 26 HT: 6’0 WT: 184 College: LSU Draft: RD6 Pick 194
Contract: 3 years / $10,000,000 per year (34th at position) – Expires 2025
Russell Gage came on late last season in Atlanta with a 29% target share over the last six weeks of the season. He finished 21st in target share (26.4%), He capitalized on the opportunity to step in while Calvin Ridley dealt with personal time away from the game. He should be a welcome addition as another option in this offense. With the recent news that Chris Godwin may be ready for Week 1 and the addition of Julio Jones, we have seen his ADP drop on multiple sites. Buy the dip and take advantage of a good receiver in a Tom Brady led offense.
2022 Fantasy Outlook:
Receiving: 12% Target Share, 80 Targets, 57 Receptions, 614 Yards (10.8 YPR), 5 Touchdowns
