D’Vonte Price was a track and field athlete at Charlotte High School in Punta Gorda, Florida as well as a star on the football field. During his career, he rushed for 1,265 yards and scored 23 total touchdowns. He committed to Florida International as a three-star recruit in the 2017 class. As a true freshman, Price averaged 8.7 yards per carry on 15 attempts, totaling 131 rushing yards and 45 receiving yards. Over the next two seasons, he combined for 809 yards and five touchdowns on 140 carries, adding an additional 165 yards on 25 receptions. In the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign, Price topped 100 yards rushing in four of his five games and was named honorable mention All-Conference USA. He finished the season with 581 yards and four touchdowns on 85 attempts. With another year of eligibility, Price opted to return for a fifth season at FIU. He took a career-high 129 carries for 682 yards and six touchdowns. He also caught 10 balls for 83 yards and was again named honorable mention all-conference.

Bottom Line:

D’Vonte Price is an upright runner with exceptional size-adjusted speed. He wasn’t very productive in the passing game but he flashed potential as a route-runner. Price has a good chance to become the first running back in Florida International history to be selected in the NFL Draft. If he does, it will likely be on Day 3 to a team looking to add some depth to its running back room. In dynasty rookie drafts, a guy with Price’s athleticism is worth a late-round flier.
