In our article last week, we were quite profitable with some of the guys we had in our lineup. Ryan Tannehill put up another huge performance against the Oakland Raiders, going for 391 yards and three touchdowns. We also recommended putting Patrick Laird into your lineup as a cheap FLEX option and that also paid off. Julio Jones was our only flop, but will likely bounce back this week with Calvin Ridley going out for the rest of the season. Looking ahead at our NFL Week 15 DFS lineups, we have a couple more players that you should think about starting this week.
Quarterback, Ryan Fitzpatrick $6 200
The Miami Dolphins will be heading to New York for a second week in a row, but this time they will be going up against the mediocre Giants. Last week, they played the Jets who have a much better defense than the Giants. Ryan Fitzpatrick struggled, yet still put up nearly 250 yards of offense. The Giants, even at home, have been terrible in the secondary. They might have put up some sort of a mirage last week against the Eagles, but don’t believe what you saw. That secondary is atrocious. Fitzpatrick should be able to tear them apart.
These Dolphins, under the direction of Brian Flores, have proven to have quite a bit more fight in them then we expected. This might be one of the last winnable games on their schedule, they should play hard to get this one. Keep an eye on the injury report, if DeVante Parker and Albert Wilson both sit with concussions, this play becomes a little less confident. If one of the two play, then I expect a big game from Ftizmagic. Who is going to profit from all of these passes? Leads right into my next player, who will likely be a solid value play on Sunday.
Value Play: Wide Receiver, Isaiah Ford $3 600
Stacking a QB with one of their WRs is usually a good way for you to win your week in DFS. Whether it be in a tournament or a head-to-head, correlating these two positions is your best avenue to success. This week, we can pair a pass-happy offense with Fitzpatrick with someone who came in as his WR1 due to injuries last week. Isaiah Ford caught six of nine targets for 92 yards in Sunday’s 22-21 loss to the Jets. If DeVante Parker is out, you will be getting Miami’s top receiver for less than $4000. Count me in!
Must Start: Running Back, Chris Carson, $7 500
Last week, we were able to hit with Nick Chubb and his impressive performance against the worst rush defense in football. This week, we have another absolute lock with Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson. They will be going up against the Carolina Panthers and there absolutely awful run defense. They rank last in the league in defensive DVOA.
The Panthers are a team that look as though they have given up on the year. They have fired their head coach Ron Rivera, and reports are that the lockerroom was upset with the decision. Seattle, on the other hand, is coming off a rare, embarrassing loss to the Rams. I can see them putting up big numbers against Carolina, looking to get back into playoff shape.
Carson is also set to see a role bump in the Seattle offense after Rashad Penny was lost for the season with an ACL injury. Carson had been giving up significant workload to Penny over the last three weeks, but he is set to retake his bell-cow roll in the offense. If we are lucky, Carson won’t have fumbling issues and will carry us all to a winning week! Expect Carson to be highly owned in most tournament settings, but in a head to head he has to be in your lineup.
High Risk/High Reward, Wide Receiver Chris Godwin, $7 700
There cannot be a DFS week where you do not have someone from the Tamba Bay Buccaneers in your lineup. This team puts up points every single week. It doesn’t always translate into wins, but Jameis Winston loves to throw the ball nonetheless. Winston has been playing well and goes up against the terrible Detroit Lions defense, he might have another big game here.
Why is there a risk with Godwin then? He is in the top five of receiving yards on the year. Granted, but last week the Bucs lost star receiver Mike Evans for the rest of the year. That means that Godwin will likely be covered by the best cornerback on every defense they play. He will likely be double covered. So, even if the matchup seems amazing, there is quite a bit of risk with the third-highest costing receiver available. He will likely have 15 targets in this game, and if one of them turns into a long touchdown then he will be worth his price.
Make sure that you keep an eye on the injury report here as well. Winston apparently injured his thumb against the Colts. He was taken out of the game near the half, but then came out on fire in the second half.
Week 15 Lineup Example
Those are some of the guys that I recommend having in your NFL Week 15 DFS lineups. Here is an example of one of the lineups I like the most this week.
QB – Ryan Fitzpatrick
RB – Chris Carson
RB – Raheem Mostert
WR – Isaiah Ford
– Chris Godwin
– Julio Jones
TE – Ian Thomas
FLEX – Saquon Barkley
DEFENSE – Cincinnati Bengals
A couple of quick notes on this lineup, I know the Bengals defense might surprise some people. They are going up against the New England Patriots this week, and are 10 point underdogs. Most people expect the Patriots to blow the Bengals out of the water. I don’t see that happening. Brady has looked old and this offense is struggling immensely. The Bengals defense has stepped up since Andy Dalton came back into the lineup, and I expect them to have a good showing here.
I know that Saquon has let a lot of DFS players down this year. I think he is going to have a huge week here against Miami. It is going to be a high scoring affair in New York and I want to get as much exposure as possible.
