Summary

The Eagles were the breakout team of 2022, led by the breakout season of quarterback Jalen Hurts. After coming up short in the super bowl, they’ve added to the running back room and crushed the NFL Draft. The Eagles are no longer flying under the radar and may even be the most talented team in the league. The roster is strong across the board. On offense, they have the NFL’s best offensive line, a top-3 quarterback, a pair of stud wide receivers, and one of the better receiving tight ends. in the backfield, they’ve swapped out Miles Sanders for the trio of Kenneth Gainwell, D’Andre Swift, and Rashaad Penny to make up one of the NFL’s most explosive running back rooms and one of fantasy football’s most difficult to decipher. Oh, and they have one of the better defenses in the league, too.

The Eagles will again be ripe with fantasy production as well as a top-3 real life team. There’s little reason to believe they won’t be back in the super bowl with a chance to lock up that Lombardi trophy.

Summary

The Cowboys say they’re going to run the ball. However, actions speak louder than words and their actions tell us they plan on being pass-heavy. They released running back Ezekiel Elliott and replaced him with no one. They traded for wide receiver Brandin Cooks. And they used a second round pick on a tight end. The Cowboys have everything in place to contend with the Eagles for the NFC East title. The offensive line is about as good as anyone when healthy. They have a bunch of talent on defense. And they have explosive playmakers on offense.

Summary

The Giants greatly exceeded expectations in 2022. They took one of the lesser talented rosters in the league and turned it into a playoff team. They brought back quarterback Daniel Jones with a long-term extension and running back Saquon Barkley got the franchise tag. They’ve also added talent, particularly on the offensive side with wide receiver Parris Campbell in free agency, tight end Darren Waller via trade, and rookie wideout Jaylin Hyatt in the draft. There are still plenty of questions across the board and the wide receiver position remains a glaring weakness despite the additions.

One thing for sure, though, is we’re going to find out if last season was a fluke or if coach Brian Daboll is really as much of a wizard as Giants fans believe. This team is still bottom-half of the NFL in talent so if they make another playoff run Daboll will be worthy of the praise he’s received.

Summary

The good news: The Washington Commanders got rid of their owner. The bad news is, their team still stinks.

The Commanders enter the 2023 season with Sam Howell at quarterback, a stone age head coach, and a bad defense. In a positive light, this might actually wind up a decent situation for us as fantasy gamers, so long as Howell is at least competent. That’s because, they’re going to be forced to throw the ball a lot more than they’d like to. With a poor defense, in a division with multiple good offenses, plus games against the Seahawks, Dolphins, Jets, and 49ers, the Commanders are going to be in shootouts and/or comeback mode quite often. That should allow weapons like Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson, and Antonio Gibson to see the volume in the passing game that they need to be productive in fantasy, even if the efficiency isn’t all the way there.

As far as their real life outlook, the Commanders are heading towards a fourth place finish in the NFC East. There’s a real chance they hit the reset button in the offseason and revamp the front office, coaching staff, and roster.

Overall Team Rank: 20th
Projected NFC East Finish: 4th
