Mario’s Fantasy Rundown: Week 14

Week 14 was another great week of football, both in real life and in fantasy. Some leagues started playoffs this week, and most are looking at the first round in Week 15. It’s crunch time in fantasy football land, and here are the top scorers from Week 14. If you made the playoffs, congrats! If you didn’t, hey there’s always next season.
START/SIT ASSIST | TRADE CALCULATOR
QB Josh Allen 39.22 pts

Allen was a one man wrecking crew in Tampa Bay on Sunday afternoon. He single-handedly led the almost comeback from down 24-3 at halftime. It was a tale of two halves, and the 2nd half was owned by Allen. He finished the OT loss with 417 total yards and 3 TDs, with 109 of those yards coming on the ground. With no running game to speak of, the Bills have chosen to use Allen like a college QB in a spread offense, and fantasy players can rejoice. Allen is a must start, no matter the opponent.

RB Dalvin Cook 36.2 pts

Any worries about Cook’s shoulder injury were quickly dismissed on Thursday night. Mattison managers were left wanting more, and Cook managers were pleasantly surprised to have him back for a game on a short week. Cook helped Minnesota to a commanding 29-0 lead halfway through the 3rd quarter. However, true to Minnesota fashion, the Vikings allowed the Steelers to roar back within 8. Cook did his part, finishing the game with a season high 205 yards rushing and 2 TDs. Perhaps most impressive was his 7.6 YPC average, especially while wearing a harness to protect his dislocated shoulder and torn labrum. Cook remains a must start, despite tough matchups the next couple of weeks.

WR Davante Adams 34.1 pts

If Aaron Rodgers owns the Chicago Bears, then so does Davante Adams. After a quiet Week 6 matchup vs Chicago with only 12.9 pts in a game that the running game dominated, Davante nearly tripled that amount on Sunday night. Green Bay was surprised by a suddenly high scoring Bears offense, and was forced to keep up. Adams was up to the challenge, catching 10 passes for 121 yards and 2 TDs on his way to his WR1 finish. The Rodgers to Adams connection is stronger than ever, and even though the next 2 matchups don’t look appeasing, there is no way you aren’t starting Adams.

TE George Kittle 34.1 pts

Kittle is the TE1 for the second week in a row. He has been on fire the past 2 weeks, putting up 22 catches on 27 targets for 332 yards and 3 TDs. He has a fantastic fantasy playoff schedule, and if you were lucky enough to keep him on your roster, you will reap the benefits.
Next up vs ATL, @ TEN
D/ST Chiefs 26.0 pts

In 2 games vs the Raiders this season, the Chiefs D gave up only 23 points. In those 2 games, they notched 2 interceptions, 5 fumble recoveries, and 6 sacks. The Chiefs defense has emerged as one of the most trusted defensive matchups, regardless of the opponent. They have registered at least 1 takeaway in each of the last 8 games, and have double digit fantasy points in 5 of the last 6.
