Bio
Kenny McIntosh graduated from University School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 2019. McIntosh was ranked the 11th best running back prospect according to 247Sports and a top-200 prospect overall. Georgia’s 2019 recruiting class ranked 2nd nationally, only trailing Alabama.
Georgia is known for producing NFL talent at the running back position. Prior to McIntosh’s senior season at Georgia, three backs – D’Andre Swift, James Cook, and Zamir White – were drafted. As a result, McIntosh only appeared in 12 games in his first two years, accumulating under 90 total touches. But once McIntosh saw an uptick in work as an upperclassman, he carved out a significant role in Georgia’s offense. Still the third-string back on the depth chart behind Cook and White, McIntosh saw just 11% of the team’s carries. But McIntosh was able to haul in 22 receptions to compliment James Cook.
Senior year was another step in the right direction for McIntosh. Now the senior of the running back room, McIntosh led the Bulldogs in attempts, yards, and touchdowns on the ground. McIntosh also reassured his presence in the passing game. His 43 receptions were the third most on the team, trailing Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey. His 12 total touchdowns were the most for Georgia.

Bottom Line:
While playing time was sparse for his first two years, McIntosh’s fingerprints are all over the offense of the back-to-back champs. He should be able to help out right away in the passing game, especially on 3rd-down plays. Unlike others, it appears McIntosh’s measurables were relatively consistent; he measured in at 5’11” and 210 pounds at the Senior Bowl. McIntosh offers a nice blend of patience in the backfield, but a quick burst when he finds the gap.
Some downsides of McIntosh include his age; given running back’s short shelf life, its unideal McIntosh will be a 23-year old rookie. While his burst is strong, he lacks the elite level 4th gear others possess when hitting the open field. Like most rookies, McIntosh will need to improve in pass protection and blitz pickup.
Overall, McIntosh is a sound prospect. He has the potential to drafted in the top-5 of his position. That will likely be a late Day 2/early Day 3 selection. Given the running backs hitting free agency, McIntosh could find himself on the field early in his rookie season.
