Injuries to Monitor

DeVon Achane suffered an ankle injury late in Sunday’s game. On a short week team’s don’t actually practice on Mon-Tues but Achane was listed as a non participant. He was upgraded to limited and is Questionable for this game.

Raheem Mostert has also missed “practice” with a chest injury and is out for this game.

Breakdown

The Bills were tested at home in Week 1 against the Cardinals. They won 34-28 on the back of two Josh Allen rushing TDs. He also threw for two more TDs. James Cook had 22 touches but wasn’t overly productive. Defensively they held Kyler Murray to only 162 passing yards on 31 attempts but allowed 124 yards to the Cardinals on the ground.

The Dolphins pulled off a narrow win of their own defeating the Jaguars 20-17. Tua led the league with 338 passing yards; 130nof which went to Tyreek Hill. Waddle went over 100 yards and DeVon Achane had seven receptions for 76 yards and added a rushing TD despite only averaging 2.4 yards per carry.

Draftkings Showdown

Showdown Captain mode is a DraftKings tournament where you have $50,000 to create a lineup using 6 players from a standalone single game. One of those players will be your captain. The captain costs 1.5 times their salary and will accumulate 1.5 times the points. As with every slate, GAME THEORY IS INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT. Even more so in Showdown, you want your lineup to tell a story of how the game will go. There are a lot of options based on how you see the game going but ALWAYS make sure there’s correlation between your players.

Strategy

This game is expected to be a shootout but I do think it can come under the total. Obviously Allen and Tyreek can completely take over this game and should be considered at captain. They are expensive though and can cause some issues if paired together. I prefer Allen paired with two pass catchers but will play some Miami stacks with only Allen and one Buffalo player as a bring back in hopes the Dolphins get up big and Allen has to go Superman mode.

With Mostert out it will push Achane’s ownership up if he plays and Jeff Wilson and Jaylen Wright will be in play. I prefer Wilson if only Mostert is out. I believe he’ll see more of the work in the Mostert roll. If Achane is out I’ll play Wright at captain and he does possess more upside than Wilson regardless of the situation.

*My favorite Captain picks would obviously also make good Flex Options.

Captain

Josh Allen $16,500
Allen should be the highest owned captain for good reason. We saw it last week. He can just carry this team on his back. The $900 savings off of Tyreek is worth it with a number of cheap options to pair with Allen.

James Cook $13,500
Cook got 19 carries last week and added three receptions. That workload is exactly what we want in fantasy. Hebalso provides great leverage to Allen lineups. He didn’t flash the explosiveness last week but certainly possesses it. This defense just allowed Tank Bigsby to run for 6 yards a carry. Tank Bigsby!!!

Fantasy football

Tyreek Hill $17,400
I’m not gonna try and sell you on Tyreek, he’s obviously a great play. I will say I won’t have a ton of him at Captain because at this salary he has to for and away be the highest scorer for it to make sense and there are a lot of other options that can make some more favorable lineups.

Jaylen Waddle $12,900

Waddle can turn limited opportunities into big production and is a significant salary savings off Tyreek. He caught all five of his targets last week and averaged over 21 yards per catch.

Flex

Tua Tagovailoa $9,400

Tua lead the league in passing last week. With two explosive WRs he can easily go off on any given week. He can be played at Captain but I prefer him paired with a Tyreek or Waddle captain hoping they bring him along for the ride.

Dalton Kincaid $7,200

I’ve never been a Kincaid fan but he should certainly have a larger role in this offense than what we saw last week. He’ll definitely have weeks where he’s the number one option which is great for a one game slate.

Keon Coleman $5,800
Coleman is my preferred Bills pass catcher. He had a 22% target share in his first career game. He has the body to be a redzone target and I expect Allen to look his way more and more as the season goes on.

The rest of the Bills WR

• Khalil Shakir 13%
Has the big play upside

• Curtis Samuel 8.7%
Potential redzone and scripted touches

• Mack Hollins 8.7%
Had a TD last week and will be out there in 2 WR sets

Jaylen Wright & Jeff Wilson

As I said above I prefer Wilson if ONLY Mostert is out. I think most ppl are gonna play Wright and think you can get an Ownership discount on Wilson.
