Bio
When you watch Bijan Robinson run, it looks like he was born to play football. Perhaps he was. After all, it is in his blood. His great uncle was a third-round pick of the Bengals in 1968 and a two-time Pro Bowler during a six-year NFL career. The first glimpse of Bijan following in his great uncle’s footsteps came at Salpointe Catholic High School in Tucson, Arizona. It was there where he ran for over 2,000 yards on three separate occasions. Robinson set the record for most career rushing yards (7,036) and touchdowns (114) in the state of Arizona’s history. That included 2,235 yards and 38 touchdowns on 126 carries during his senior season. Robinson also became the first player to win the Ed Doherty Award twice, in recognition of being the top player in the state.
Unsurprisingly, Robinson was ranked as a five-star prospect and the top running back in the 2020 recruiting class. Robinson received offers from about every Power Five school imaginable, ultimately choosing to join the Longhorns at the University of Texas. While operating in a full-blown committee with Keaontay Ingram and Roschon Johnson, Robinson led the Longhorns in rushing with 703 yards on 86 carries. That’s a whopping 8.2 yards per carry. He added 15 receptions for 196 yards with four total touchdowns.
In 10 games as a sophomore, Robinson carried the ball 195 times for 1,127 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also caught 26 passes for 295 yards and four scores. Robinson was named first-team All-Big 12. Robinson became completely dominant in his 2022 junior season with 1,580 yards and 18 touchdowns on 258 carries. He continued to be productive through the air as well with 314 yards and two scores on 19 receptions. He chose to sit out the Alamo Bowl to start turning his focus towards the NFL.
After the season, Robinson was awarded the Doak Walker Award as the nation’s best running back. He also earned first-team All-Big 12 honors and first-team All-American. Robinson leaves Texas fourth all-time in school history with 3,410 rushing yards. His 33 career rushing touchdowns are the third-most in the program’s history.

Bottom Line:
The hype is real. Bijan Robinson is truly a generational talent who will be one of the best running backs in the NFL, the second his name is announced on draft night. Robinson is built like a prototypical bellcow back with an incredible combination of size, speed, and explosion. His lateral agility, change-of-direction, and balance are unmatched. His vision and instincts help him exploit any and every hole in the defense. He offers the receiving skills to make him a legitimate three-down weapon. Not only does he have excellent hands, but his route running and ability after the catch will make him a chess piece that creative offensive minds can move around the formation and will create headaches for opposing defenses. His above average skill set in pass protection ensures he will never have to come off the field.
Robinson is the type of talent that a few years ago we would have been talking about as a top-5 or top-10 pick in the NFL draft. Instead, he’ll probably come off the board somewhere between pick 20 and pick 30. In dynasty, he is the no-brainer 1.01 in both single quarterback and superflex rookie drafts.
