Audric Estime 2024 Scouting Report
Audric Estime 2024 Scouting Report
Audric Estime | RB | Notre Dame | Junior | 5-11 | 227 lbs
Background
After 2 quiet seasons on Notre Dame, Audric Estime has broken out this past season and solidified himself as a top running back in this draft. Estime set career highs in yards, touchdowns, carries and averaged an impressive 6.4 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the end zone as he ranked 3rd in the nation in rushing touchdowns, trailing only Blake Corum and Ollie Gordon. After his successful 2023 campaign, he decided to forgo his final season. With him declaring for the draft, it’s a perfect time to dive into his future in the NFL.
Scouting Report
What separates Estime from the other running backs in the draft is his power. He runs with a vicious mindset, punishing any defenders that gets in his way and attempts to stop him. His physicality is captivating, allowing him to fall forward consistently. He marries this with exceptional contact balance as he excels at breaking tackles and gaining extra yardage after contact. Estime is arguably the best North-South runner in this draft. He uses every pound of his 227 pound frame and earns every yard on his stats.
Despite his large frame, Estime is explosive, especially for his size. When he reaches top speed, good luck catching him. However, this doesn’t mean he’s a good athlete. He struggles changing directions as his speed takes a noticeable hit when he tries to do this. A part of this is his sloppy footwork, taking extra, unnecessary steps when changing directions. It’s essential he cleans this up at the next level.
In the backfield, Estime is in no rush to pass the line of scrimmage. He displays great patience, waiting for his blocks to develop and rumbling right through. His vision is solid but nothing special and can be improved. The biggest weakness of his game is his high pad level. He runs almost upright and loses the leverage battle almost every time against opposing defenders.
As a 3rd down back, Estime poses high upside. His physicality and size makes him an intriguing blocker which allowed him to stay in during passing downs in college. However, his ability to process where the extra blocker is needed is weak and needs to be developed. He wasn’t used much in the receiving game either as his receiving skills and route running tree are mediocre at best.
Best Landing Spot: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Although Rachaad White has played amazing this season, his frame isn’t compelling, especially for short yardage situations. That’s where Estime comes in. He’ll provide the Buccaneers a reliable option for short yardage and would make a scary one-two punch in the backfield. He compliments White perfectly. White is the elusive, explosive back that runs past defenses while Estime is the powerful back that runs through them. This also gives Estime a potential mentor for his lackluster receiving ability. White has been one of the best receiving backs this season, ranking third in receiving yards and fourth in receptions amongst running backs.

Dynasty Outlook
Estime’s physical running style and large frame makes him an intrguing option for dynasty. He is also fundamentally sound when it comes to his vision and patience, making him an NFL ready prospect. However, his underwhelming athleticism and receiving ability are the main setbacks that drops his value. With all that in mind, Estime should be drafted as a late 2nd rounder.
