This weekly series looks at two consensus NFL fantasy sleepers outside of the top-24 that I am the highest on and why. Each week, I will break down the case for both players, giving my view as to why they are strong flex spot starts. I will compare where they are ranked, and give my own ranking for comparison. Without further ado, here are our Week 6 sleeper candidates!
Week 6 Sleeper RB
Tevin Coleman — Consensus Rank: 28 My Rank: 22
In his first full game in the Kyle Shanahan offense this year, Coleman rushed 16 times for 97 yards and one touchdown. Heading into a road game against a division rival, I expect more of the same from Coleman this week. The Rams are allowing the 15th most rushing touchdowns and the 17th most yards to RBs. I expect his workload to increase from the 33-percent of snaps he was in on, as the team was easing him back into action from an ankle injury. In a week with some star RBs with murky situations regarding injury, Coleman is a solid flex option.
Week 6 Sleeper WR
D.J. Moore — Consensus Rank: 25 My Rank: 7
Last week, Moore set season highs in receiving yards and snap percentage, posting 91 yards on 75-percent of the snaps. With Kyle Allen at QB, Moore has seen his targets increase over the last three weeks to a high of eight in Week 5. His Week 6 opponent has been stifling running attacks allowing the second fewest yards on the ground. If the Panthers want to win, they are going to have to throw against this defense. Tampa is currently giving up the most passing yards. With the volume coming back his way, a breakout game is coming for Moore.
