2026 NFL Week 8 Best Bets
2026 NFL Week 8 Best Bets
Apologies for missing last week’s article, as I was out of the country and out of area to place wagers.
Sunday marks the time change across the country, and the first Sunday in November signals we are near the halfway point of the NFL season. Week 8 has half of the 14 games between division foes. And while the trade deadline looms, this week could be the most impactful to determine if someone will buy or sell before the trade deadline on Tuesday, November 10th. Here are my favorite week 8 NFL bets.

Week 6: 1-3 (-2.28 units)
YTD: 8-11 (-4.35 units)
Arizona Cardinals (2-5) vs. Dallas Cowboys (3-4)
Dallas -7; O/U 54.5
Arizona +7 (-112)
This feels like a hold your nose and take the underdog. We have four instances this week where a team is favored by at least seven points. Through week seven this year, teams that are favored by at least seven points are just 7-17-2 ATS, and have lost nine outright. Arizona has been in this spot three times this year, covering in all three. In 11 road starts with Jacoby Brissett as the starter, the Cardinals average 22.3 PPG. Dallas has had two games this year: week two against the Commanders where they won handedly after Jayden Daniels left on the last play of the first half. And a Thursday night game against the Buccaneers, where Dallas lost outright as a 8.5-point favorite. I think Arizona can keep this within the number.
Los Angeles Chargers (0-6) vs. Los Angeles Rams (3-4)
Los Angeles Rams -6.5; O.U 45.5
Under 45.5 (-115)
The Chargers needed last week’s bye in the worst way, as they are the lone winless team and are a league low 15 PPG. The under has cashed in five of six games the Chargers have played this year. Only Deshaun Watson has been sacked more on a per game basis than Justin Herbert (3.5/gm).
For the Rams, we have not seen them play a complete, 60-minute game this year. Even last week against the Raiders, they gave up two touchdowns and a field goal in the fourth quarter. Granted, they were in control for the entire game, but it has given them fits against the Cardinals and Broncos earlier this year, both resulting in losses. I think the extra week will help the Chargers keep this one close. And the only way to do that would be to keep this low scoring. I’ll take the under in this Los Angeles matchup.
New England (4-3) vs. Miami Dolphins (1-5)
Miami +7; O/U 43.5
Patriots: Team Total Over 25.5 (-115)
Over 43.5 (-108)
Another game with a spread of at least a touchdown, and one of the two between divisional rivals. But I’ll focus on the over in this one.
Since the start of last year in AFC East games, the Patriots average 31.1 PPG, with the over clearing in six of eight, and the Patriots clearing 26 points in seven. This average ticks up a bit in road divisional games, going to 31.8 PPG in four games, and 35.5 PPG against the Dolphins. The Patriots are coming off their sixth regular season loss since the start of the 2025 season. In the games following a loss, the Patriots average 30.4 PPG, clearing 26 points in four of five. In AFC East matchups this year, the over has cashed in all three games, with the game total averaging 51 PPG.
Even on the road, I expect the Patriots offense to be consistent and put up points against a team that has given up at least 26 points in four of six this year. Give me the Patriots team total over, but also the over for the game.
Chicago (5-2) vs. Seattle (4-3)
Seattle -3; O/U 46.5
Chicago +3 (-105)
Ben Johnson and the Bears get an extended week of rest, having come off a Thursday Night Football win over the Patriots. Now they get another primetime matchup, this time traveling across the country to take on Seattle. In his time as Detroit’s offensive coordinator and the short stint as Chicago’s head coach, Ben Johnson is 18-4-1 ATS in primetime games. For Seattle, they are coming down of a high of their own, beating Kansas City as they took on former teammate Kenneth Walker III, the Super Bowl 60 MVP. They shutdown the Chiefs, preventing Patrick Mahomes from getting in the redzone for the first time in his career. Can they do it again? I’ll take the points with the Bears in this one, as the underdog in standalone games this year is 16-10-1 ATS.
Week 6 Teaser Parlay: 0-1 (-1.00 units)
YTD Teaser Parlay: 1-2 (-0.36 units)
Week 8 Teaser Parlay (1 unit): +175
Los Angeles (A)/Los Angeles (N): Under 51.5
New England: Team Total Over 19.5
New England/Miami: Over 37.5
Chicago +9.5
Outright Underdogs (.5 Units):
Week 6: 0-0 (0.00 units)
YTD: 2-5-1 (-1.11 units)
(Monday) Chicago @ Seattle +142
I hit on this game above, but I’ll go ahead and take the points with the Bears to close out week 8.
