Week 3 DraftKings Cash Games

Week 3 Draftkings Cash Game Breakdown

Cash games take a bit of a different approach. We only need to finish in the top half of finishing positions. The goal is to get the safest floor with a bit of upside for the cheapest price. Ownership is an afterthought. I tend to look for the most guaranteed touches from the RBs and WR. A floor is just as important as a players upside in cash. If there’s value on the slate at WR I’ll play the top RBs otherwise I’m looking for the most touches in the mid range. Cash games are a great way to build your bankroll and stay profitable long term.

I will say that you should ALWAYS enter your cash lineups into a GPP even if its a small one. Believe me it is not fun coming 1st in a double up and winning the same amount as the person who came in 2,000th when you could’ve won a GPP.

QB

Jalen Hurts $7,300

We know the upside that Hurts possesses but his rushing ability provides such a safe floor. He has back to back games with 13 rushing attempts. The Eagles defense looks lost which will force Hurts into more opportunities to throw and run the ball. The Saints have allowed a league high 11.1 yards per pass attempt.

I generally don’t give too many options at QB but there’s not a ton of value and little salary can go a long way. So if you wanted to drop down from Hurts to Kyler Murray $6,900 I don’t hate it.

Derek Carr $5,800

Carr leads QBs in passing TDs so far with five, he’s thrown multiple TDs in back to back games. He leads all QBs with 11.4 yards per attempt. The Eagles are bottom 10 in pressure rate and bottom five in sacks and QB knockdowns.

Geno Smith $5,600

At least 18 DK points in each of his first two games. Geno threw for well over 300 yards last week. He’s in a good spot at home against a mediocre Dolphins pass defense.

RB

Alvin Kamara $7,500

Kamara is a workhorse in this offense. He has 20 touches in back to back games. The Eagles are allowing a ridiculous 6.5 yards per carry. Kamara leads the league with 5.7 yards per carry and has the most yards before contact. He also has the most rushes inside the 10 yard line through two games.

DeVon Achane $7,000

With Tua out the Dolphins will likely rely heavily on Achane like we saw last week. He had 29 opportunities last week. He’ll have plenty of designed pass plays and dump offs with Skylar Thompson under center. Achane has back to back games with seven receptions.

Fantasy football

Jordan Mason $6,200

Your getting McCaffrey’s workload with a much cheaper Mason. This salary is still to cheap. It makes Mason a great value and the usage makes Mason a great Cash play. He has at least 20 carries in each of his games and went over 100 rush yards and a TD. James Conner just ran for 122 yards last week and the combo of Gibbs and Montgomery went for over 130 combined rush yards.

Zach Charbonnet $6,000

Charbonnet isn’t incredibly efficient but he makes up for it with volume. With Walker missing another week Charbonnet should be in line for close to 20 touches. He had 14 carries last week and five receptions. The Dolphins have allowed the 3rd most points to opposing RBs.

If BOTH Joe Mixon AND Dameon Pierce cannot play then Cam Akers $4,700 becomes a free square.

WR

Devonta Smith $6,900

With AJ Brown out Smith is THE guy for this Philly offense. He had 10 targets last week. He has seven catches in each of his first two games. I love his prospects in a game with a high total in a dome.

Chris Olave $6,300

Olave saw 38% of the targets last week. He had 81 yards in a game where they barely had to throw the ball. The Eagles have allowed 13.5 yards per reception which is 2nd highest in the league. They’ve also allowed the 6th most yards after the catch so far this season.

Brandon Aiyuk $6,200

Aiyuk is at a discounted salary for what his usage should be with Deebo out. He was eased back in a bit in Week 1 playing 60% of the snaps. He jumped up to 88% last week and should get a full workload in this one against a terrible Rams defense. The Rams have allowed the 2nd most receptions of 20+ yards.

If Kittle misses then Jauan Jennings $4,100 is absolutely in play but I wouldn’t play him in the same lineup as Aiyuk. I’d have two SF players max in my lineup.

Jaxson Smith Njigba $5,400

JSN had 16 targets last week. He turned that into 12 catches and 117 yards. The Dolphins have allowed 11.7 yards per reception which is 6th most in the league and a league high 563 yards through the air.

Diontae Johnson $4,900

This one is simple. Diontae Johnson’s ability matched with his price and the fact that Bryce Young has been benched.

TE

Brock Bowers $5,400

Bowers looks like the real deal through two games and his salary will continue to rise. He’s had at least eight targets in each of his first two games. He has one less target than Davante Adams to put his usage in perspective.

Jake Ferguson $4,500

If Ferguson can play he is far too cheap for his talent on a terrible TE slate. If Ferguson can’t play, Luke Schoonmaker $3,300 comes into play.

DEF

TB $3,000

TEN $2,700
