Tale of the Take: Howard Bison
The Howard Bison challenged themselves in their non-conference schedule this season, scheduling two bowl eligible teams in Eastern Michigan and Northwestern. Howard lost both, but put up a strong showing in each game. The Bison had the best defense in a strong MEAC, allowing just 17.4 PPG in conference play. They lost a close matchup (24-27) to the 2021 MEAC champion South Carolina State, but blew out the reigning MEAC champion North Carolina Central (50-20).

Tale of the Tape: Florida A&M Rattlers
Florida A&M had a dominating 2023 season. At 11-1, the lone blemish on the resume came at South Florida, where the Rattlers lost 38-24 to the Bulls. But the rest of the season was smooth sailing for FAMU. A perfect 8-0 in conference, where they outscored opponents 250-109. 13.6 PPG allowed in conference play was by far the best mark; Alabama State was the only other program to allow under 20 PPG in conference play (15.6 PPG). Florida A&M had just one game within a touchdown this season, a 26-19 win at Southern.

A two-year starter for the Rattlers, has completed 57.5% of his attempts for 5,334 yards, 40 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.
#0 LB Isaiah Major
Leads the team in tackles (89) for the second consecutive season. 95 solo tackles and 153 total tackles across the last two seasons

- The MEAC representative is 6-1 in the Celebration Bowl
Game Synopsis:
Truthfully, I have not had any exposure to either team this season. But I know two things about this bowl game. First, the halftime show of the Celebration Bowl is must watch television. Both bands put on an incredible show that gets the spectator, both in person and at home, on their feet. Second, the MEAC always find a way to win. Jackson State (SWAC) under Deion Sanders was a two touchdown favorite the last two years and lost both outright. This might be the year the SWAC pull the win, but I’m not banking on it. Howard pulls the upset on their way to a Celebration Bowl victory.
