Giants vs 49ers DFS Lineup Builder
Giants vs 49ers DFS Lineup Builder
Week 3 is ready to kick off Thursday night as the New York Giants travel to Santa Clara to take on the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers are 2-0 and coming off a 30-23 win over the Rams. The 49ers are coming in decently healthy outside of Brandon Aiyuk, who is dealing with a shoulder injury suffered in Week 2. He was listed as a limited participant at Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s practices.
The Giants come in 1-1 after mounting a 21-point, second half comeback against the lowly Arizona Cardinals in Week 2. The Cardinals came out swinging and the Giants had no answer in the first half but found their groove in the second half in route to a 31-28 final, (all 31 Giants points came in the second half.) It came at a cost though as Saquon Barkley was injured late in the fourth quarter and has been ruled out for Thursday Night’s matchup.
What players can we expect to shine Thursday night? Let’s see how to construct a roster than can help you win some cash after a great Thursday Night Football showing last week. Here is last week’s article.

Showdown Captain:
Christian McCaffrey ($18,000)
No reason to get cute this week. The Giants just allowed 106 yards and a touchdown to James Conner on 23 carries. CMC has looked as dominant as ever in the first two weeks, scoring 48.4 fantasy points (PPR). He rushed for 152 yards in Week 1 and 116 yards in Week 2, amassing 23+ touches in both games. After McCaffrey played 100% (not a typo) of the snaps last week, Kyle Shanahan spoke about needing to get him off the field and letting him rest more often. Even with that, CMC should be able to lead this matchup in fantasy points even if his touches are cut down to 15-18.
Other Captain Option:
Darren Waller ($11,500)
The Darren Waller and Daniel Jones connection was hyped all offseason, and it looked much better in Week 2 than in Week 1. Waller has been battling a hamstring injury to start the season, but last week was encouraging as he put up 76 yards on six catches and was targeted a team-high eight times. The 9ers have been decent against TE’s this far, allowing only 7.7 points per game to the position. They are also tied for sixth to this point in receptions allowed to the position (6) but are 21st in targets allowed (15). With Barkley out, it can be assumed that the Giants will rely on Daniel Jones and attacking the one weakness of the 49ers, the secondary.
Filling out the rest of your lineup:
Daniel Jones ($16,000)
As mentioned before, the 49ers secondary is about the only area of weakness on the team. They have been decent against quarterbacks, ranking 12th in the NFL allowing 18.5 points a game. The Giants will be without to offensive lineman and Saquon Barkley, which will open up the door for Daniel Jones and his running game. Through two weeks Jones has already rushed 22 times for 102 yards and a touchdown. The 9ers should have zero issues getting pressure on Jones, but his rushing upside helps raise his floor quite a bit.
Deebo Samuel ($13,500)
The Giants are ranked 11th vs the WR position in FPPG (19.4), but that number is a bit skewed after the Cowboys took the foot off the gas in Week 1 during a blowout. WR have only been targeted 29 times through two games against the Giants, but the position holds a 69% catch percentage against them which ranks 21st. Deebo’s role was expanded in Week 2, when he hauled in six catches for 63 yards on nine targets. He was also used out of the backfield, rushing five times for 38 yards and a touchdown. Shanahan wanting to get CMC more rest throughout the game could benefit Deebo on Thursday night.
George Kittle ($9,000)
Kittle has gotten off to a slow start in 2023, only recording six catches for 49 yards. This play is a value because of a banged up Aiyuk either being ruled out or being limited in the game and what the Cardinals tight ends just did to the Giants. Zach Ertz and Trey McBride combined for eight catches and 88 yards last week vs the Giants, so this could be a juicy matchup for Kittle.
Isaiah Hodgins ($10,500)
The 49ers secondary is 27th against WR, allowing 43.9 points per game. They have allowed the most receptions (43), 28th most yards (428), and are T-24th in catch percentage allowed (70.5%). Hodgins became a favorite red zone target last year for Jones, scoring five touchdowns in the last seven games. He also caught a touchdown last week during the comeback and saw five targets. Expect that number to grow Thursday night due to game script and Barkley’s absence.
49ers Defense ($10,000)
When facing a defense like the 49ers, teams typically would prefer to have their best player. With Saquon out, the Giants offense lacks their go-to player and most explosive weapon. On top of missing Saquon, the 49ers defensive line should feast against an offensive line that has struggled so far this year and is missing two starting linemen. Joey Bosa should have a field day.
