Bio
Parker Washington was a four-star recruit at William B. Travis HS in Richmond, Texas. Washington was also a track and field athlete in high school. He helped guide his team to a 10-0 record as a senior while accumulating 829 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. He was one of 27 enrollees in Penn State’s 2020 recruiting class that ranked top-20 nationally.
As a true freshman in a Covid-shortened season, Washington contributed early and often for the Nittany Lions. He finished second on the team in receptions, yards and touchdowns in an offense featuring NFL talent in Jahan Dotson and Pat Freiermuth. This performance earned freshman All-America second team honor by The Athletic.
Washington’s sophomore season was a transition to the new normal in college athletics post Covid. Big Ten teams returned to a full schedule. Freiermuth was no longer on the team as he departed for the NFL. Still playing behind Dotson, Washington once again finished as the team’s WR2. Washington’s most impressive game came against Ohio State in Columbus, where he tallied nine receptions for 108 yards. This was his first 100-yard game against a FBS opponent.
Washington’s junior season signaled him as the team’s primary target. However, the team went more run-focused similar to Washington’s freshman year. Still, Washington led the team in receiving yards despite suffering a season-ending injury in November. Washington missed the NFL Combine this month due to the injury.

Bottom Line:
Washington enters the NFL at just 21 and has been around NFL talent throughout his college career. While not putting up elite numbers, Washington was a reliable option for his quarterback in each of his three seasons. He can be a quarterback’s best friend as he helps with contested catches and adjusts well to inaccurate throws. When in the open field, Washington can create extra yards after the catch.
Washington appears poised to take on the slot role at the next level, measuring at 5-10 and weighing 204 pounds at the combine. He is currently projected as a fringe day two pick, trending between late third round or early fourth round depending on the draft site. Washington will likely be a 3rd or 4th round draft selection in your dynasty rookie drafts.
