Super Bowl LVII Draftkings Showdown
Showdown Captain mode is a DraftKings tournament where you have $50,000 to create a lineup using 6 players from a standalone single game. One of those players will be your captain. The captain costs 1.5 times their salary and will accumulate 1.5 times the points. As with every slate, GAME THEORY IS INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT. Even more so in Showdown, you want your lineup to tell a story of how the game will go. There are a lot of options based on how you see the game going but ALWAYS make sure there’s correlation between your players.

Overview
It’s here!!! The biggest game of the year and the last slate of the NFL season. The Chiefs and Eagles are in Arizona for Super Bowl 57.
Full disclosure I will be playing A LOT of lineups since it’s the last slate of the season. I will have a few more options as captain than in normal weeks. I’ll specify what type of contests I like them in.
It seems the bulk of the public is on the Eagles for this matchup. I too believe the Eagles win but from a DraftKings standpoint we want to be different. I will have several lineups that are centered around a Chiefs blowout. Mahomes, Hurts and Kelce will be the most popular captain choices and for that reason I will only use them as captain in smaller field single entry and 3-max tournaments.
Some of my favorite ways to build this week will be with multiple Eagles RBs. I think a way to get different could be using Hurts at captain with no pass catchers and two Eagles RBs. We’ve seen several games this year where they’ve scored multiple rushing TDs. Setting lineups as if it’s a lower scoring game is another way to differentiate yourself. Focusing on the running game for each team and mixing in a defense and/or kicker is one example.
Captain/Flex
Travis Kelce $15,900/$10,600
Kelce is the clear number one option for the Chiefs and even more so now that all the pass catchers are banged up. Including the playoffs he has a 26% target share and has been targeted on just under 29% of his routes run. He has 25 targets, 21 receptions and three TDs in the two playoff games.
Jalen Hurts $16,800/$11,200
Hurts is another guy I’ll only use at captain in smaller field single/three entry contests. He has a safe floor with the rushing upside especially rushing TDs. He’ll need to add a little more through the air to pay off at captain. He’s only averaged 168 passing yards over his last three games and has only thrown 2 TDs over that span.
AJ Brown $13,800/$9,200
Brown has been quiet in the playoffs but the Eagles haven’t really been pushed. He averaged 17 yards per reception in the regular season and finished with the 2nd most TDs among WRs. The Chiefs allowed the 2nd most TDs to WRs this season.
Dallas Goedert $9,600/$6,400
We’ve seen plenty of spike games to warrant a captain play from Goedert. His salary savings also offers a lot of options.
Large Field Options
Jerick McKinnon $10,200/$6,800
McKinnon hasn’t been great since Week 17. He had his consecutive six game TD run but has barely been used since. With that being said the Chiefs pass catchers are all injured and McKinnon should see plenty work in the receiving game. The Eagles have allowed 4.7 receptions per game to RBs over their last six games.
JuJu Smith Schuster $5,600
Juju has been banged up a bit the later half of this season. He’s regressed production wise but was still the 2nd leading receiver behind Kelce. The Eagles outside cornerbacks are very strong and they’ll likely double Kelce which should leave plenty of targets for JuJu in the slot. His salary savings also offers a ton of opportunities.

The Rest
Devonta Smith $8,600
Smith had at least six receptions in four of his last five games. He had the 9th most receiving yards and averaged 12.6 yards per reception. He could also be used as captain but I slightly lean to the big play upside of AJ Brown.
Isaiah Pacheco $7,200
Pacheco has out touched McKinnon 28-17 over the last two games. 15-6 in the AFC championship. He’s averaged 14.8 touches over his last 10 games. The Eagles are more susceptible to run than the pass and the Chiefs would be wise to go run heavy.
Miles Sanders $7,800
Sanders averaged just under five yards a carry. He also averaged 15.2 carries per game. The Eagles also ran the ball 33.3% of their plays which was highest in the league.
Marquez Valdez Scantling $6,200
MVSis coming off his best game of the season with six receptions for 116 yards. He’s been extremely boom or bust but has scored a TD in back to back games.
Kenny Gainwell $5,000
Gainwellhas averaged 13 carries and 80 rushing yards over the last two games. He has the most receptions of the Eagles RBs and the Chiefs have allowed the most receptions to opposing RBs this season.
Sky Moore $3,800
He had seven targets last game. With Hardman out and Toney banged up he’ll play the gadget role. They will have designed plays to get the ball in his hands quickly in space.
Kadarius Toney $4,400
Toney has looked good when he’s actually healthy and they design plays to get him the ball in space. He has a very low average depth of target at only 5.1 yards which actually could be the best way to attack this Eagles defense.
Boston Scott $3,000
Scott has at least six carries in his last three games and has scored a TD in all of them. That’s basically what you’re looking for.
Justin Watson $2,000
Watson hasn’t been productive but in a one game scenario he could pay off at a low salary.
Quez Watkins $1,400
Quez hasn’t been involved but does possess big play upside and could pay off at his salary with just one catch.
Clyde Edwards Helaire $1,000
CEH hasn’t played since Week 11 but it’s not outside of the realm of possibilities that he is the leading Chiefs rusher in this game.
Zach Pascal $800
Noah Gray $1,200
Blake Bell $400
Jody Fortson $200
Basically just hoping for a TD with these guys.
