Alvin Kamara: Over 89.5 Rush + Rec Yards
Kamara gets a matchup vs the Browns this week who rank 24th against the run. It hasn’t been the greatest season for the Saints running back but he has been able to take advantage of some nice matchups so far this season. It is supposed to be mega cold and windy with the possibility of some snow in Cleveland tomorrow so I’m expecting a big dose of Kamara.
Drake London: Over 44.5 Rec Yards
Drake London finds himself in a matchup vs the Ravens who stuff the run with the best of them but can be had through the air. I actually think this is going to be a competitive game with Tyler Huntley getting the start for the Ravens. Last week in Desmond Ridder’s first start he found 11 targets coming his way and pulled 7 of them in for 70 yards. It’s obvious Ridder knows who his most talented weapon is out there with Pitts on IR. I think over 44.5 yards is a smash play vs a secondary that has vulnerabilities.
David Montgomery: Over 49.5 Rush Yards
I was shocked to see this line so low for Monty. My guess is because Vegas expects the Bills to run away with this one. However, the biggest loss the Bears have had this season in 9 points. They may not be there yet but they keep it close. This team loves to keep Monty involved as he’s averaging just over 13 carries a game and that includes the game vs Houston when he left after 3 carries. Combine that with a Bills defense that has had some struggles of their own stopping the run lately and I’m a big Monty fan this week.
First Half Spreads – Britt Sanders
7-Point Teaser: Buffalo Bills -2.5 at Chicago Bears
San Francisco 49ers -.5 vs Washington Commanders
Both of these teams are favored by a high margin. When it comes to teasers I aim to cross the big numbers 3 and 7. With this teaser I had to take it up to a 7 point teaser to get across those numbers. I think with Buffalo they have too much of a potential to have their offense ‘re-click’ to tease the Bears so going this way was similar to teasing the Eagles last week. As for the Niners, I just trust in Big Brock Purdy. Which is really saying I trust in the Shanahan offense. The Commanders are going to be a headache defensively but won’t be able to make much against the Niners stingy defense. All of that just gives me confidence to tease these down.
1st Half: Miami Dolphins -3 vs. Green Bay Packers
This matchup offers a lot of really interesting nuances within it. Both teams lack a strong defense. And while it may be too early to make a declaration on the Packers overall offense, they both seem are well above average, in terms of the ability to score in a game. For me, this game comes down to one thing, it comes down to Green Bay’s inability to stop the run. With Jeff Wilson, healthy Raheem Mostert a little banged up I think that the run game will give Miami a much needed balance to the passing offenses. With Miami aiming to regain their high explosive nature, this feels like a good bet.
1st Half: Los Angeles Chargers -3 at Indianapolis Colts
The Chargers have quickly become a team that I have been team into the last couple weeks as we used to get an edge on the Bedingfield. With Mike Williams back, Justin Herbert finally have any full Coffman of weapons. It seems that the offenses find me clicking for the first time this season, as we song last week with the Colts, they was in a devastating manner. It leaves one to ponder how much this team has left in the tank to truly give it 100%. I think given the Chargers recent resurgence, the lack of Jonathan Taylor, and the overall flow and direction of the two teams. That the Chargers will quickly provide a little incentive for the Colts to stay mentally in this game to close the NFL Week 16 slate.
Game Spreads and Totals – Drew Roberts
Atlanta Falcons/Baltimore Ravens: Under 34.5
Lamar Jackson is out for the Ravens, leaving an already banged up Tyler Huntley expected to start. The Falcons have moved to Desmond Ridder to end the season. Weather wise, it won’t be as bad in Baltimore as other places in the country. 19 degrees, where it will feel like 5 degrees, 15 MPH winds and no snow. But Baltimore has already struggled to score at home this year, averaging 20.5 at home compared to 22.6 on the road. Baltimore has scored just one touchdown in each of their last two home games, and haven’t scored more than two touchdowns at home since a Week 2 loss against Miami. Desmond Ridder threw for 97 yards on 26 attempts in a dome. Now he’s playing a top-5 scoring defense and the third-best run defense on a short week. I think this is one of the uglier games across the NFL Week 16 slate. Take the under.
San Francisco 49ers -7 vs. Washington Commanders
Brock Purdy has replaced Jimmy Garoppolo admirably. Five total touchdowns in his two starts and no turnovers. Now, he gets an extra week to prepare for Washington, who is coming off a brutal Sunday Night Football beat. They are on a seven-game winning streak and are 6-1 ATS in that stretch. The defense is allowing just 10.5 points per game since their Week 9 bye. San Francisco is 5-1 ATS as a home favorite this season, and I expect that to continue this week.
Pittsburgh Steelers -2 vs. Las Vegas Raiders
Derek Carr hails from California, played at Fresno State, and has played for Oakland/Las Vegas throughout his career. He has not played well in the frigid cold.
It will be 12 degrees at kickoff Saturday night, and will feel like -5. If Carr struggles and the Raiders have to turn to the run, Pittsburgh allows the 7th fewest rushing yards (109.0) and tied for the 2nd fewest rushing touchdowns (seven).
For Pittsburgh, they are averaging 144.3 rushing yards per game since their Week 9 bye. The Raiders just allowed 7.1 YPC against the Patriots a week ago. Kenny Pickett is slated to return after a concussion knocked him out of the Week 14 game against Baltimore. Pittsburgh wins this one on Sunday night.
