Showdown Captain mode is a DraftKings tournament where you have $50,000 to create a lineup using 6 players from a standalone single game. One of those players will be your captain. The captain costs 1.5 times their salary and will accumulate 1.5 times the points. As with every slate, GAME THEORY IS INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT. Even more so in Showdown, you want your lineup to tell a story of how the game will go. There are a lot of options based on how you see the game going but ALWAYS make sure there’s correlation between your players.
Falcons @ Panthers

Injuries to Monitor
Chuba Hubbard was a full participant Tues & Wed but is listed as questionable. He should play but is worth monitoring.
Overview
The 4-5 Falcons head to Carolina to face the 2-7 Panthers. We just saw these teams combine for 71 points in week 8 when the Falcons won in overtime. The Panthers have allowed 79 points over their last two games while the Falcons have allowed 54 points over that span. While I don’t expect the shootout we saw in Week 8, it doesn’t look like either of these defenses can stop anybody right now. There also could be some rain in this game.
This one is difficult to project due to the fact that both teams aren’t great on defense and you can make a case for and against practically everyone. I’ll be leaning heavier on the running games for both teams. I’ll probably even have a team with Foreman, Hubbard, Patterson and Allgeier.
Most of my lineups will only consist of one or two at most pass catchers from the same team. I’ll pair Moore and Marshall with Walker in larger fields but most likely won’t have London and Pitts in the same lineup. Both Kickers are in play but I won’t use much. I’m staying away from the defenses but might use Carolina in case it gets sloppy.
Captain/Flex
Cordarrelle Patterson $17,700/$11,800
After Patterson returned with a two TD game and Joe Mixon just went wild against this Carolina defense, I expect Patterson to be the most popular player on the slate. Carolina has allowed 5.2 yards per carry over the last three weeks.
DJ Moore $13,800/$9,200
Moore has a 28% target share on the year. He’s been very up and down but is the clear top option for a blowup game. He’s averaged 81.7 yards over his last three games. Atlanta has allowed 276 yards per game over the last three weeks which is by far the most in the NFL.
D’Onta Foreman $11,700/$7,800
Foreman was disappointing last week only receiving seven carries. He’s still been very productive in his career when he receives the bulk of the carries including Week 7 where he ran for 118 yards and 3 TDs on this Atlanta defense. Hubbard will be back but Foreman should still see the bulk of the early down work. He was ceding snaps to Blackshear on passing downs anyway.
The Rest
Marcus Mariota $10,200
Mariota has been a fairly serviceable fantasy QB so far this season mainly do to his rushing. He’s averaged 6.6 carries per game. He’s scored three rushing TDs this season.
PJ Walker $9,600
Walker was horrific last week and eventually was replaced by Baker Mayfield. He had two good games prior, throwing for two TDs in Week 7 and throwing for over 300 yards in Week 8. Atlanta has allowed the most passing yards this season.
Terrace Marshall $8,400
Marshall has back to back games with at least six targets. He had 87 yards two weeks ago and scored a TD last week. Atlanta is terrible against opposing wide receivers.
Drake London $8,200
London has a 29% target share. I really can’t make much more of a case for him other than the fact that he’s by far the most talented receiver on the team and can absolutely get there on a one game slate.
Kyle Pitts $7,000
Basically the same case that was made for London can be made for Pitts. The Falcons just don’t throw enough. He’s had at least seven targets in back to back games.
Tyler Allgeier $6,200
Allgeier has proved he’s worthy of being involved in the offense. It helps that the Falcons are extremely run heavy. He has at least ten carries in six straight games.
Chuba Hubbard $5,800
In the last game Hubbard played before getting injured which was also the first with McCaffrey out of town, he had 11 touches for 73 yards and a TD. He will see close to double digit touches and will play the bulk of passing downs. I like his price for the amount of work he’ll get against this defense.
Damiere Byrd $4,400
Byrd is a huge play waiting to happen. Problem is you may have to wait until next week. He’s averaged 35.5 yards per reception. He also failed to have a catch last week despite playing his second most snaps of the season. I will play quite a bit of him because he could pay off his price with one catch.
Olamide Zaccheaus $5,400
Olamide has at least two catches in all but one game. He’s averaging 15 yards per reception. There isn’t much passing volume to go around but if he catches a few balls he could be serviceable in this game.
Raheem Blackshear $5,000
Blackshear has been used quite a bit on passing downs. He had four receptions for 40 yards last week and scored a TD on the ground. With Hubbard back he likely takes a back seat but could still be sprinkled in. I’ll go elsewhere unless there’s new that Hubbard still isn’t 100%.
Caleb Huntley $4,800
Huntley has averaged 10.3 carries a game and 4.7 yards per carry since Week 4. He had seven carries last week even with Patterson back. I don’t know that he has much upside but will get enough work to be flex viable at a lower salary.
Shi Smith $3,600
Smith played 80% of snaps last week. He’s averaged 13.9 yards per reception but has only had more than one reception twice this year and has failed to have a catch in four games.
Tommy Tremble $3,200
Tremble has caught a TD in two of his last three games. That’s basically what you’re hoping for but its worth a shot at his salary.
Laviska Shenault $3,000
Shenault has been banged up and unproductive this year. He had five receptions against the Falcons two weeks ago and that was the only time he had more than two targets. He is good with the ball in his hands and could be worth a stab in larger field contests.
KhaDarel Hodge $1,400
You’re basically hoping for a big catch or maybe two. He’s very cheap soooo he has that going for him.
