Overview
This week we get Saints vs Cardinals and hopefully it can break the trend of awful prime time games. The Saints lost a close one to the Bengals last week. The Cardinals only scored nine points in their 10 point loss to the Seahawks.
The Saints have averaged 30 points per game and allowed an average of 30 points over the last three games. The Cardinals have not been as explosive averaging only 17.3 points and allowing an average of 18.3 over their last three.
If the Cardinals can even be fairly competent on offense I like the over in this game. I love Kamara as captain especially considering he’s not the highest priced player. I’m sure I’m not alone on that. Next would be Olave considering his utilization in this offense. I expect some people to go with Rondale Moore at captain since he is generally popular and lower priced but I don’t like his upside enough and will only use him at flex. Kyler is a viable captain and as for Saints QB, I’m fine with either Jameis or Dalton as a flex.
Captain/Flex
Alvin Kamara $15,900/$10,600
Back to back weeks with six catches. He’s had at least 28 touches in each of those games. He’s totalled 318 yards from scrimmage over that span.
Kyler Murray $16,800/$11,200
If sideways yards were a thing, Kyler would be the best player in football. His legs offer upside. He’s had 14 rushing attempts and has averaged over 10 yards a carry over the last two weeks.
Chris Olave $11,100/$7,400
Olave has averaged 9.75 targets over his last four games. He’s averaged 87 yards and has scored twice over that span. He has an average depth of target of 18 yards and still leads the league in air yards despite not playing last week.
DeAndre Hopkins $15,300/$10,200
Clearly Hopkins hasn’t played yet this year and it’s hard to know how in shape he is and how involved he’ll be. Regardless we know his skill and he’ll be involved especially with Brown now injured.
The Rest
Zach Ertz $7,000
Ertz has back to back games with 10 targets and four games with double digit targets this season. He’s had at least six catches in five straight games. He’s tied for the team lead in receptions over the last three weeks.
Jameis Winston $9,600
Andy Dalton $9,400
Although they have different skillsets I don’t look at them any differently in the context of a one game slate. Both can be serviceable options at the flex depending on who actually starts.
Rondale Moore $5,800
Moore has 18 targets and at least six catches over the last two weeks. He has the 3rd most targets and 2nd most receptions on the team over the last three weeks.
Eno Benjamin $8,200
Eno wasn’t overly efficient but had 18 touches last week. He played 87% of the RB snaps. The Saints have allowed 5.5 yards per carry over the last three games.
Taysom Hill $7,200
We know the volatility of Taysom but he’s averaged over 10 yards a carry and has five rushing TDs on the season. You could play him at captain but just know he could pay off or get you literally nothing.
TreQuan Smith $6,200
TreQuan caught all three of his targets for 43 yards and a TD last week. He likely sees a little less work with Olave back but should still see targets and has TD upside.
Robbie Anderson $5,600
Robbie was just traded to the team so it’s hard to see him very involved if at all.
Mark Ingram $5,200
Ingram played 33% of snaps last week. He’s had nine carries in back to back games. He’s going to be involved and at the price he could be a good flex option but doesn’t offer much upside.
Marquez Callaway $4,800
Callaway has played the most snaps and has run the most routes of Saints WRs over the last three weeks. He had 7 targets last week.
Juwan Johnson $3,000
Johnson is 4th on the team in targets and has the 2nd most receptions over the last three weeks. He’ll have an increased roll with Trautman out. Arizona has allowed the 2nd most points to TEs.
AJ Green $2,600
Green hasn’t really been involved lately playing less than 20 snaps per game over the last three weeks. He has seen 9 targets and has caught five balls over the last three weeks. On a one game slate he can be played especially at this price.
Rashid Shaheed $2,000
Shaheed has played limited snaps but did have a 44 yard rushing TD last week. With the amount of injuries on the Saints he could get a couple touches and flashed his big play upside.
Keaontay Ingram $400
With Williams and Conner out of the lineup, Ingram had three carries last week.
It’s possible he sees more work especially considering Eno is dealing with a foot injury.
