Look ahead game
Last week my look ahead game was Miami at Baltimore and oh boy was that a blast! I was really looking forward to that game because neither team was really tested in week 1 and I couldn’t wait to see both offenses needing to score. *Pats self on back* Nailed it! This week I’m taking a different approach. I’m looking to Houston at Chicago. Yeah, I said it. Neither team is very good. Water is wet. However, both teams have new coaching staffs and young quarterbacks really trying to prove themselves. To spice things up both teams are 1-1. The winner of this game has a chance to go into the quarter pole with a winning record! Fantasy wise I think this should be some fun too since both defense seem to be awful against the run. I know this one won’t get a ton of national attention but I think there’s a ton of interest here if you know where to look.
DFS
Travis Kelce $7,900 – I LOVE Kelce this week and there’s a few reasons why. First off, he’s the clear cut number one target now on this offense and it’s not close. Second, the Colts defensive coordinator is Gus Bradley. If you don’t know anything about Bradley his defenses primarily look to avoid big plays and live by the “bend but don’t break” mantra. It’s a simple scheme that relies on good players. When the players are there you get the Legion Of Boom. Unfortunately, the Colts defense lacks the talent of those Seahawks. Mahomes has had success against Bradley led defenses in the past and I look for Kelce to get a ton of work because of this. Even if Shaq Leonard can play it will be his first game off back surgery. My final point here and my personal favorite is that the Chiefs are coming off ten days thanks to Thursday Night Football last week. Andy Reid is the wizard at scheming when he has extra rest and time. Game. Set. Match. Kelce is my favorite play on the slate as I believe he possesses an elite ceiling while also giving you a very safe floor this week.
David Montgomery $5,900 – A big part of my DFS strategy is eye test and gut feel. This play fits both. I watched Monty go for over 100 yards against the Packers in a game where the Bears offense was nothing short of awful. On the flip side, the Texans have been awful against running backs the first two weeks. Bears are favored at home. That’s it. Moving on.
Curtis Samuel $5,100 – Raise your hand if you saw the Curtis Samuel revival tour hitting the ground running because it wasn’t this guy. Eleven targets (8 catches) in week one and nine (seven catches) in week two. He has managed a touchdown in both games and has also seen usage on the ground. The Commanders play piss poor defense and get the Eagles this week. Let me hear you say “Garbage Time”! His price for his usage just does not add up and I’m jumping all over it.
