Cash games take a bit of a different approach. We only need to finish in the top half of finishing positions. The goal is to get the safest floor with a bit of upside for the cheapest price. Ownership is an afterthought. I tend to look for the most guaranteed touches from the RBs and WR. A floor is just as important as a players upside in cash. If there’s value on the slate at WR I’ll play the top RBs otherwise I’m looking for the most touches in the mid range. Cash games are a great way to build your bankroll and stay profitable long term.

I will say that you should ALWAYS enter your cash lineups into a GPP. Believe me it is not fun coming 1st in a double up and winning the same amount as the person who came in 2,000th when you would’ve won a GPP.

QB

Lamar Jackson $7,300

Lamar averaged 64 rushing yards per game last season and that’s including week 14 where he was injured and had five yards. The Jets allowed the most rushing TDs last season.

Jalen Hurts $6,800

His rushing ability provides a safe floor at a reasonable salary. Last season he averaged 8.4 fantasy points per game just from rushing alone. Your basically guaranteed a TD and 20 rushing yards worth of production. He offers upside as well. He averaged 21 fantasy points a game last year and had four games with multiple rushing TDs. Adding AJ Brown provides a bit more upside with the arm.

Kirk Cousins $6,100

Cousins averaged 20.5 fantasy points per game last season. He threw multiple TDs in 12 of his 16 games last season. The Packers allowed the 3rd most passing TDs last year.

RB

Christian McCaffrey $8,500

This is the cheapest that a healthy McCaffrey will be all season. Do I really need to say anything else? Ok fine he also averaged 19.4 touches per game last season. Huge upside with one of the highest floors in football.

Joe Mixon $7,100

Mixon averaged 21.3 opportunities per game last season. He tied for the 8th most carries inside the 20 yard line as well. The Steelers allowed the most rushing yards last season.

Fantasy football

Najee Harris $6,400

Harris finished the season with the most targets and receptions among RBs. While Big Ben contributed to that let’s not forget that Tarik Cohen had back to back seasons with at least 70 receptions. Harris is one the most heavily used RBs and your getting him at a great price.

Dameon Pierce $4,800

Slated to be the starter at under $5k its worth a stab for some salary savings. He’ll have 12-15 carries which is well worth the price in cash.

WR

Brandin Cooks $6,300

Cooks had a 27% target share last year and that could be his floor. He had seven games with double digit targets. The Texans are seven point underdogs and will  be playing from behind and passing a ton.

Amon Ra St Brown $6,100

Over the final six games last year, St Brown averaged 8.5 receptions and 93.3 yards. He saw no less than 10 targets in any of those games and scored a TD in all but one of them. The game environment is good as well with the 3rd highest over/under of the week.

Michael Pittman $5,500

This is a blatant misprice. Pittman is the clear WR1 for this team and got an upgrade at QB. He had a 25% target share last season. The Texans allowed the 2nd most yards per reception last year.

Christian Kirk $5,100

Kirk is the clear cut WR1 for the Jags. Washington also allowed the 5th most receiving yards and 6th most receiving TDs to opposing WRs last season.

TE

Travis Kelce $6,600

In week 1 we can continue the theme of capitalizing on guys that are going to increase in salary as the season progresses. Kelce is the number one option for Mahomes and his salary is not overly restrictive.

Kyle Pitts $5,700

Insert underpriced theme. Pitts is Atlanta’s top pass catcher. As the Titans top pass catcher in 2015 Delanie Walker had 94 receptions for 1088 yards and 6 TDs. He averaged 78 receptions and 898 yards from 2015-2017. Those years were with Marcus Mariota at QB.

Cole Kmet $3,700

Kmet and Mooney are the only legit options for Chicago. He will have a 20+ percent target share at under $4k. That is as close to it gets to a perfect cash play.

DEF

NE $2,700

MIA $2,600

WAS $2,500
