Ever since Seth Keller (@fftheathomedad) posted his median versus average article found here. It has opened my eyes into how to better capture an additional edge, especially with the kicker position. If you missed it, you can find my article here outing those edges others and I have put together to better predict the kicker position.
The Thursday Night Edge
Since Week 10, there has been a trend for the fantasy kicker.
It all comes down to the winning team (no duh right), the kicker on the winning team is averaging 11 fantasy points for that week. On average the kickers have exceeded their seasonal average points per game by 2.81*. The average finish for the kicker on the winning team is 6.8. Conversely, the kicker on the losing team is averaging 2.5 points per game. Which may be just as important to take note of.
Weaponizing New Information
In the last five weeks, the favorite has ended up winning the game 80-percent of the time (four out of five games). For tomorrows matchup, Kansas City is currently favored over the Chargers, and they are playing in a Dome. Since Harrison Butker most assuredly is not going to be available on your waiver wire, Dustin Hopkins does not appear stream able this week. While the Chargers are at home, in a dome and their rookie tackle is on Covid protocol and Ekeler is banged up. The Chiefs currently are enduring a six week winning streak, running hot as ever. As we grow deeper into playoffs, prioritizing streaming kickers playing on Thursday for the favored team may give you that extra edge to continue your championship run.
*I do want to note that the point differential has been decreasing slowly since Week 12.
