Mario’s Optimal DraftKings DFS Lineup: Week 6
10 game Sunday Slate
QB Taylor Heinicke vs Kansas City Chiefs
$5,800
BOOM target: 17.4 pts
I could not pass up Heinicke this week. DK has him priced as QB12, but he is going up against the absolute worst pass defense in the league in the Chiefs, and to top it off, the game is in Washington. Not only is the Chiefs’ defense terrible, but so is the WFT defense. I expect a high scoring shootout vs a motivated Patrick Mahomes, who has not played up to standard so far this season. Prior to last week’s stinker vs New Orleans, Heinicke put up at least 23.4 pts in each of the three games prior, so he should have no problem hitting his BOOM target. He is an excellent start in a week where byes have some of the top players out.
RB Jonathan Taylor vs Houston Texans
$6,600
BOOM target: 19.8 pts
After a slow start to the season, Taylor put up 23.4 and 34.9 pts, respectively over the last two weeks. It’s almost like Frank Reich figured out that if he gives Taylor more touches, and Hines less touches, good things happen for the Colts. (sarcasm should have it’s own font) The Texans are coming off of a close, tough loss vs New England last week. Their defense is 7th worst against the run so far this season, and if the Colts jump out to a lead as expected, it’s a perfect game script for Taylor to have another good week to exceed his BOOM target. Fire up Taylor at home this week.
RB Khalil Herbert vs Green Bay Packers
$4,600
BOOM target: 13.8 pts
As I was writing this article, the news dropped that Damien Williams was moved to the RESERVE/COVID19 list. This is purely a volume play. The Bears literally have no one else to play RB unless you count FB Ryan Nall. We hadn’t seen much of Herbert until last week when he was thrust into the RB2 role in Chicago, and the rookie unexpectedly got 18 touches for 75 yards. Herbert should get a HUGE workload at home vs Green Bay, and the volume of touches alone should get him over his BOOM target.
WR Davante Adams @ Chicago Bears
$9,000
BOOM target: 27.0 pts
On the opposite side of Herbert in Chicago, Davante Adams finds himself in my optimal lineup this week. Adams put up his most productive game of the season last week vs a Cincinnati defense that had absolutely no answer for him. Adams put up 40.6 fantasy points in the victory. The kicker here is that Adams TD equity is way down this season. Despite leading the league in many WR categories, Adams only has 2 TDs on the season. He’s due for a multiple TD game, and I’m betting it’s this week.
WR Tyreek Hill @ Washington Football Team
$8,500
BOOM target: 25.5 pts
I’m shocked that I was able to fit Adams AND Hill in my lineup this week, but I’m willing to pay up for Tyreek vs a horrendous WFT secondary. The Chiefs have found themselves in several shootouts this season due to the ineptitude of their defense. More scoring is always better for fantasy, and that’s the situation we find ourselves in this week. Hill makes it to my lineup this week as the opposite stack in the WFT/KC game. He should get double digit targets, and odds for a couple of TDs are way up. Look for KC to get him more involved this week after a quiet outing vs a good Bills defense in Week 5.
WR Jamarr Chase @ Detroit Lions
$6,700
BOOM target: 20.1 pts
Adams, Hill, AND Chase in the same lineup. Are you as excited as I am? In another game that has shootout potential, Chase looks to build on the biggest fantasy output of his young career last week vs Green Bay. 6 receptions for 159 yards and 1 TD for a total of 30.9 DK points. If Burrow continues to look his way like he has been since the start of the season, Chase should have no issues hitting his BOOM target vs a Lions defense that has allowed a 100 yard pass catcher in every game this season.
TE Ricky Seals-Jones vs Kansas City Chiefs
$3,000
BOOM target: 9.0 pts
We have spent up on WR and one of our RBs on this slate, so we have to pay down on a couple of roster spots to stay under the cap. Seals-Jones is my WFT stack with Heinicke this week in a fantastic matchup vs a poor Chiefs’ defense that has allowed at least 57 yards receiving OR a TD to TEs in 4 of 5 games this season. RSJ was targeted 8 times by Heinicke, and played a whopping 82 out of 83 offensive snaps in Week 5. It’s a small sample, but the usage is up there with the top TEs in the game. With only 9 pts needed to hit his BOOM target, I’m starting RSJ this week not only in DK, but in my regular fantasy lineups, as well.
FLEX WR Chris Moore @ Indianapolis Colts
$3,100
BOOM target: 9.3 pts
Moore is my bring back stack to Jonathan Taylor in this lineup. Moore burst onto the scene last week in New England. In his first active game of the season, he put up 109 yards and a TD on just 5 receptions. He has an obvious rapport with rookie QB Davis Mills, and DK has not realized that yet with how low he is priced this week. We expect the Texans to be playing from behind in most games this season, and this week is no different. Moore should have plenty of opportunity to exceed his very low BOOM target of 9.3 points.
D/ST Arizona Cardinals @ Cleveland Browns
$2,700
BOOM target: 8.1 pts
I usually go with the lowest priced defense each week, but I had a few hundred dollars left over that I could not utilize on any other position in this week’s lineup. The Cardinals will likely key on the run game of the Browns, and force Baker Mayfield to throw the ball and keep up with the Cardinals’ high powered offense. Mayfield has been sacked at least once in every game this season, and is going up against a defense that has already taken the ball away 10 times. One of those sacks or QB pressures could lead to a turnover, and that’s what we are banking on.
