START/SIT ASSIST | TRADE CALCULATOR
Man does Week 4 have some juicy matchups, we kick it off with the Jaguars and Bengals on thursday night. Then a great slate on Sunday including New England vs Tampa Bay, all wrapping up with Las Vegas and Los Angeles with the division lead on the line. Amongst all these we need to fit those good and bad Start and Sit options for Week 4. I am here with a Start and Sit for each position as we head into Week 4.
Quarterback Start and Sit
Start: Joe Burrow
Joe Burrow has started the season well producing 640 yards on 75 passing attempts. Along with this he has thrown 7 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. All adding up to 50.5 fantasy points through three weeks. The connection with Ja’Marr Chase looks as good as ever and the Bengals poised to be much improved. Heading into Week 4 he faces off against the newest first overall pick in Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars. They are currently allowing 23.5 fantasy points up to the quarterback position, this is tenth worst in the NFL. Even with an unhealthy Tee Higgins I expect Burrow to produce low end QB1 numbers this week and should be started in all SuperFlex formats and some 1QB formats.
Sit: Daniel Jones
Daniel Jones started off on a torrid pace, producing over 60 fantasy points in the first two weeks of the season. For many of us this was music to our ears, as it appeared he may finally be a solid weekly fantasy option. However that crumbled last week in what looked like a favorable matchup. he produced similar passing and rushing numbers as weeks prior, however failed to find the endzone passing or rushing. This week he faces off against a stroud New Orleans defense. They rank fourth best against Quarterbacks, allowing only 14 fantasy points per game. Along with this and the injuries at the wide receiver position for the Giants I am out on Danny Dimes this week.
Running Back Start and Sit
Start: David Montgomery
As on of the most disrespected backs in the game David Montgomery always produces for fantasy football. Last season he finished as the RB4 in PPR formats and he began the year just where he left off. Scoring 18.8 PPR points in week one, however he has fallen off some since. Only producing 18.4 over the past two weeks. However with a rookie quarterback Justin Fields starting this week along with facing a week run defense in Detroit. I expect Monty to find his groove again. The Lions average 27.9 points given up to running backs per game. As the lead guy in Chicago I expect a performance similar to week one this week and possibly a RB1 finish. He is a must start in all formats for me.
Sit: Ty’son Williams/ Latavius Murray
Ty’son Williams was the immediate attempt to replace Gus Edwards and JK Dobbins, this seemed to be working in the first two games. Williams produced 29.7 PPR points over the first two weeks, while totaling 27 opportunities. In week three we saw a way different story only seeing 5 opportunities, against an easier opponent in Detroit. Latavius Murray saw a few more opportunities at 7, however nether were very effective. They totaled less than 10 PPR points combined. In Week 4 they face an even stinger defense in Denver, who has only allowed 8.6 PPR points per week on average. I expect a similar performance to last week for all the Ravens running backs this week, and will not be fantasy viable. They are a must sit in all formats for me.
Wide Receiver Start and Sits
Start: Cole Beasley
Cole Beasley has continued where he left off last season, tearing up PPR leagues. He has seen 30 targets over three weeks while producing over 42 fantasy points, currently ranking him as WR27. This week him and the Buffalo Bills have a juicy matchup in the Houston Texans. I expect Beasley to see close to 13 targets again in this game as he is Josh Allen’s security blanket. ALong with their use of the short passing game as an extension of the run game. I can see Beasley producing high end WR1 numbers this week and expect him to find the end zone in what should be a high scoring affair.
Sit: Chase Claypool
It has been a rough start to the season for the Pittsburgh Steelers, after a week 1 victory in Buffalo it appears the wheels are starting to fall off. Ben Roethlisberger looks to be struggling big time, while the offensive line counties it woes. All of this leading to a fairly dysfunctional run game and offense. The one bright spot being Najee Harris last week who produced big in the passing game. Now headed in Week 4 the Steelers draw the Green Bay Packers who allow the sixth fewest points to wide receivers. With all of these factors in play I am out on Chase Claypool this week especially with Juju Smith-Schuster and Dionate Johnson on the injury report. If he is the lead guy come Sunday he will draw Jaire Alexander and I want nothing to do with this matchup.
Tight End Start and Sit
Start: Dawson Knox
The second Buffalo Bill to be mentioned in this article, however one that could be just as valuable this week. Currently the TE8 in PPR scoring Dawson Knox appears to be in the middle of the third year breakout. Averaging over 10 PPR points a week Dawson Knox has become a large part of the Bills passing game especially in the red zone. Over the first three weeks of the season he has seen 12 targets in which he has turned into 10 receptions for 107 yards and 2 touchdowns. I don’t know if he can sustain this production for the whole season, however at this moment he is a must start. Especially when he draws the juicy matchup against the Texans who allow over 18 PPR points to the position per game.
Sit: Tyler Higbee
Although the Rams went out and acquired Matthew Stafford it does not appear that they want to throw all that much more. Even when they do, it is finding its way to Cooper Kupp mainly. In this Week 4 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals I am completely out on Tyler Higbee. The Cardinals rank third best against tight ends. They only allow 4.3 PPR points to the position on average. Even after a solid performance in Week 3 in which Higbee took % receptions for 40 yards and a touchdown. I can’t trust Higbee to reproduce that against this stroud defense. This makes him a must sit for me this week.
