The Yards Per Fantasy team has looked at the matchups for the Week 2 slate of football action and determined the top sleepers to play in your lineups.

Christian Kirk, WR, Cardinals

Matchup: vs MIN

Christian Kirk has been in the league for four years now but he is consistently slept on. He’s averaged an amazing 20% target share since entering the league, and it’s not slowing down anytime soon. After Rondale Moore was drafted in May, Kirk’s ADP has declined to the point where he may even be on your waivers. Hopefully you were able to pick him up after his two touchdowns last week or maybe you already had him but didn’t start him. This is the sign to fire him up this week vs Minnesota. Although another two touchdowns would be great I’m expecting another five or so catches and a touchdown would be icing on the cake.

Fantasy football 2025

Kyler Murray was lights out last year before his shoulder injury and he looks the part again this year. The Cardinals offense looks to be one of the best this year for fantasy; Outside of the tight end position. James Conner, Rondale Moore, and Chase Edmonds are other players I would be willing to fire up. Conner got the bulk of the carries last week and could get a touchdown or two, Edmonds had good receiving numbers, and Moore saw five targets himself. All of these players should be rostered and albeit risky they’re worth a start.

Nyheim Hines, RB, Colts

Matchup: vs LAR
Colts running back Nyheim Hines has flown under the radar for too long. I get it–Jonathan Taylor is an amazing RB in his own right and is likely the reason Hines isn’t talked about much. I’m here to change that. All Hines did last week was take six receptions for 48 yards on eight targets and add another 34 yards on the ground for a total of 89 all-purpose yards.
His total of 14 fantasy points in PPR leagues was smack dab in the middle of RB2 land finishing as RB19 overall for the week. The best part about him is that you could pick him up at the end of drafts so if you do roster him, then he is likely in your FLEX spot giving you RB2 production. He might even be on the waiver wire in some shallow leagues. In which case, you should head there now and pick him up.
But what about the tough matchup against the Rams? This will likely put the Colts into a negative game script early on. Hines will get enough targets to have the chance to finish inside the top-20 RBs again this week. If he is able to break one of them for a touchdown, then he could really give your team a boost as a solid FLEX option.

Tyler Boyd, WR, Bengals

Matchup: vs CHI

Tyler Boyd is in a sneaky solid spot this week. Going up against a Bears defense that just got lit up on National TV, Boyd will eat from the slot this week.

Ja’Marr Chase was outstanding in week one and Tee Higgins was the Bengals red zone threat. Boyd was the odd man out as Joe Mixon also ended up with 30 touches I’m the game. Week to week the receiving core will leave an odd man out but the Bears can be attacked from the slot and Tyler Boyd is going to get back in fantasy owners good graces with 6 grabs 70 yards and a splash.

Fantasy football

Tim Patrick, WR, Broncos

Matchup: vs JAX

With Courtland Sutton going down with injury last year, it was Patrick who stepped up into a larger role and became debatably the most consistent WR for Denver. Despite playing alongside Jerry Jeudy, Noah Fant, and Rookie KJ Hamler, Patrick saw 79 targets and had 51 catches for 742yds and 6TDs. With Jerry Jeudy now on IR, it’s likely Patrick who now sees the outside role with Hamler moving into the slot. Last week against a Texans team that was supposed to be amongst the worst in the league, Jacksonville was torched by Tyrod Taylor, Brandin Cooks, and company.

Currently ranked as the ECR WR54, Patrick could be a true sleeper. Teddy B supported 2 top 25 receivers last season, and Patrick should be in line for a decent amount of work with Jeudy out and Sutton likely still less than 100%. If he can keep pace with his 14.5 yards per reception from last year, he’s in the WR3 discussion with upside for what appears to be a fantastic matchup.

Terrace Marshall, WR, CAR

Matchup: vs NO

In week two Terrace Marshall faces off against the New Orleans Saints normally a very tough matchup for wide receivers. However this week he has a real chance to produce solid fantasy numbers. Marshon Lattimore is doubtful to play after surgery to remove a chip in his hand. This absence will allow for an even easier matchup for Marshall. I suspect DJ Moore to draw Desmond Trufant or Bradley Roby. As a result Robby Anderson will draw the other, leaving third round rookie Paulson Adebo to cover Terrace Marshall.

In week one Terrace Marshall saw 6 targets which was third on the team. He had double the targets Robby Anderson saw.  Marshall has emerged as a red zone threat and with this easier matchup this week I think he can produce WR2 numbers this week if he finds the endzone. He is a great sleeper flex play.
