Fantasy Football Week 10 Waiver Wire Pick-Ups

With a hefty amount of notable injuries in Week 9, the waiver wire is here to help your fantasy team in Week 10. Nine weeks of NFL football could not have happened any quicker, so here are some key players to place on your roster before you realize your slim chances at the fantasy playoffs. Let’s get into it.

*All statistics and information are based on 12-team PPR leagues*

Week 10 Waiver Wire Rankings

QB: Jared Goff, QB, Los Angeles Rams (40.9%)

Any quarterback facing the horrendous Seattle defense is a must-start in all league formats. The Seahawks have allowed the MOST fantasy points to quarterbacks. In Week 9, Josh Allen and the Bills covered 415 yards through the air, tying his season-long in passing yards. In Week 8, Jared Goff threw for a season-high 355 yards against the Dolphins. Coming off a bye entering Week 10, Goff should be well rested and well prepared to feed the ball to Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp, letting them feast against the NFL’s weakest Seattle Defense.

RB: Matt Breida, RB, Miami Dolphins (31.1%)

The Dolphins combined for 56 yards on 18 carries from the RB position against the  Cardinals on Sunday. The RB performance was mediocre, averaging just barely over 3.0 yards per carry. We knew coming into the week the Dolphins’ backfield situation was going to be a little iffy without star RB Myles Gaskin. The Dolphins were going to look Matt Breida’s way last week for the full workload until he was ruled out with a hamstring injury. Without the backfield’s two top RBs, the Dolphins decided to split reps three ways between Salvon Ahmed, Jordan Howard, and Patrick Laird. However, if Breida is healthy enough to play, he should get the nod as the starting back for the Dolphins this week against the Chargers. LA just surrendered 130+ rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns to Josh Jacobs and Devontae Booker.

RB: Duke Johnson, RB, Houston Texans (16.7%)

Week 10 Waiver WireDavid Johnson exited Week 9 against the Jaguars with a concussion. In his absence, it was Duke Johnson’s time to shine. The Texans were surely confident in Duke, feeding him 16 carries for 41 yards and a score. In addition, he was involved in the passing game, recording four catches for 32 yards. There is not a whole lot of news yet on David Johnson’s status for Week 10’s matchup against the Browns. Even if he is ready to go, there is no telling how extended his workload will be. If it is decided that he will not be able to play, consider Duke Johnson a FLEX/RB2.

WR: Jakobi Meyers, WR, New England Patriots (10.3%)

It is safe to say that Cam Newton has a crush on Jakobi Meyers. Ever since Julian Edelman’s knee injury, Meyers has played a much more significant role in Belichick’s offense. The past two games he has recorded eighteen catches for 227 yards. Jakobi has been the centerpiece of the offense in those contests and will continue to be that way in the next upcoming weeks. Despite Meyers facing a tough Ravens defense, expect him to receive a respectable number of targets, making him a FLEX/WR3 in Week 10.

TE: Irv Smith Jr, TE, Minnesota Vikings (4.4%)

If you were that guy who played against Irv Smith Jr in Week 9, man do I feel bad for you.  Smith had one of the luckiest fantasy weeks, recording two receptions for 10 yards and two touchdowns. Even though he only had two catches, he is a promising threat in the red zone for the Vikings. Smith has scored double-digit fantasy points three of the last four weeks. If you are in need of a TE for Week 10, have trust in Smith Monday night against the Bears.
