2026 Week 7 College Football Best Bets
2026 Week 7 College Football Best Bets
Week 6 was an incredible week across the college football landscape. Georgia goes on the road and wins a top-10 matchup in Tuscaloosa. Texas loses a rivalry game at a neutral site. Teams like Oregon, Florida, and Pittsburgh lose at home to fall out of the polls. LSU could not win on the road and suffers their second loss of the season, this time to an unranked Kentucky team.
Now we move to week 7. Another loaded week across college football, including six ranked matchups. One pits two of the top-5 ranked teams nationally meeting in Bloomington, and another is a top-10 matchup with Notre Dame heading to Provo. Another week means another opportunity to learn about the 2026 season. Here are my 2026 week 7 college football best bets.

#13 Missouri (5-1) vs. #9 Ole Miss (4-1)
Ole Miss -5.5; O/U 58.5
Ole Miss -5.5 (-110)
I believe there is a clear hierarchy in the SEC: Georgia and Alabama are clearly at the top. Vanderbilt and Arkansas are at the bottom. The other 12 teams? Any one of them can beat up on the other, especially if they have home field advantage. Ole Miss beat LSU at home; Florida beat Ole Miss by four scores at home the following week. Missouri then beat that same Florida team by four scores the next week in Missouri. Now, Missouri hits the road for the first time after their first “big” win. Kewan Lacy returned for the Rebels last week, but didn’t have to do much in a blowout win over Vanderbilt. Another week to get healthy to run behind one of the best quarterbacks in the country will help boost this offense over a questionable Missouri defense. Since 2021, Missouri is 2-9 against ranked SEC teams on the road and lost the last seven. In those 11 games, they have been outscored by 152 points. I’ll take the trend and Ole Miss in this one.
Northern Illinois (0-5) vs. Wyoming (3-3)
Wyoming -8.5; O/U 41.5
Under 41.5 (-115)
Since Jay Sawvel arrived in Laremy in 2024, the under has cashed in 10 of the Cowboys’ 14 home games. The average game total in those 14 games is right at the number, 40.4 PPG, but the last three home games against FBS opponents averages just 28.3 PPG. This is another west coast trip for the Huskies in their first year in the Mountain West. I love to fade Northern Illinois and believe they are one of the worst teams in the FBS this year. I’ll take the under in Laremy.

Washington State (1-5) vs. Oregon State (4-2)
Oregon State -17.5; O/U 52.5
Oregon State -17.5 (-115)
JaMarcus Shephard has Oregon State firmly in contention for the Group of Six spot to the College Football Playoff. Yes, they are 4-2, but those two losses came at Houston and versus Texas Tech. Both were by just two scores against two of the Big 12’s best. Since then, they defeated their last three FBS opponents by 26, 30, and 52 points, respectively. The QB/WR combination of Braden Atkinson and true freshman Jesse Legree is one of the most dynamic duos in the country. Legree is putting up Jeremiah Smith numbers, we just don’t talk about him because he is not at a power program and is up in Corvallis. The Beavers’ big game remaining on their schedule is against Boise State, but that’s not until mid November. Until then, it is style point season for the Beavers, and I think they exploit a bad Washington State team. Beavers, big.

#15 Kentucky (5-1) vs. Oklahoma (3-2)
Oklahoma -7; O/U 43.5
Kentucky +7 (-112)
Both teams are coming off a remarkable win. One against their arch rival Texas at a neutral site, another against a loaded roster in LSU. But one team – Oklahoma – required a special teams score on a blocked punt, and another from a pick-six. Oklahoma has not scored more than two touchdowns on offense in their last four games. The only exception on the season is the opener against UTEP.
Kentucky’s 5-1 start is not aging the best; they have back-to-back wins that came in overtime, and the road win in College Station over Texas A&M has aged like milk. They did hang in there with Alabama for a half, but it got ugly in the second half. However, I have a lot more faith in this Kentucky team to withstand a strong Oklahoma defense than their counterparts. I’ll take the Wildcats in a low scoring game to keep it close.
Navy (2-3) vs. UTSA (5-1)
UTSA -6.5; O/U 55.5
UTSA -6.5 (-122)
Over 55.5 (-110)
Owen McCown and the Roadrunners have been dominant at home in the Alamodome. Since 2024, the Roadrunners are 13-2 at home, going 11-3-1 ATS. In their FBS games at home, UTSA averages 43.8 PPG. The over is 13-2 in that span, including games against FCS. Their two times in that span playing a triple option team in Army, UTSA lost both contests and allowed 29 and 27 points. Similar to Oregon State, UTSA has a path to a College Football Playoff appearance. But they need to stay hot and earn some style points. I think they do, and the over cashes in San Antonio.
Outright Underdogs (.5 units)
Week 6: 0-2 (-1.00 Units)
YTD: 2-15 (-4.85 Units)
Boston College vs. Pittsburgh +195
Might be more of a hedge on my Pittsburgh future that looks to be up in flames after Pitt’s quarterback Mason Heintschel was ruled out for the year with a torn ACL. But Pitts’ offense looked like a shell of itself last week against North Carolina. I’ll take Boston College to pull the upset.
#15 Kentucky @ Oklahoma +210
I touched on this above, but I would much rather have Minchey at Kentucky than Mateer under center at this point of the season. Give me the Wildcats to pull the upset in Norman.
Wisconsin @ #12 UCLA +120
Is UCLA that good? Yes, they beat Oregon on the road last week. But the Ducks coughed up seven turnovers, and were a misplaced two-point conversion away from tying the game. Nico Iamaleava’s status is still in question. I’ll take Wisconsin to pull one of the more surprising upsets of the week.
