2026 NFL Week 9 Best Bets

Week 9 marks the halfway point of the NFL season. International football resumes, this time in Madrid, Spain. The tradeline is just a week away. This week will help determine who is going to be a spender, or who will be having a fire sale. But first, we have to look at the games ahead. Here are my favorite week 9 NFL bets.

Week 8: 3-2 (+0.77 units)
YTD: 11-13 (-3.58 units)

Las Vegas Raiders (4-4) vs. San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco -10; O/U 51.5

Over 51.5 (-120)
San Francisco: Team Total Over 31.5 (+100)

There are totals set at 30.5, but they are heavily juiced, so we will run with the 31.5.

The 49ers are coming off a bye, while the Raiders return from a cross country trip where they played the Jets. Raiders totals have averaged 57.6 PPG, but since their 3-0 start to the season, those totals soar to 61.8 PPG. In the Raiders’ last five games, their opponents have averaged 35.2 PPG, clearing 32 points in four of five. First time head coach Klint Kubiak has given a spark to the Raiders offense, jumping their point total from last year’s league worst 14.2 PPG to 27.6 PPG, 6th best. Against the Chiefs, Patriots, and Bills, Las Vegas has averaged 26 PPG this year. I think this one can clear the total, with the 49ers leading the way.

Arizona Cardinals (3-5) vs. Seattle Seahawks (4-4)

Seattle -8.5; O/U 39.5

Arizona +8.5 (-110)

We hit on this last week: teams that are an underdog by more than a touchdown are now 20-9-2 ATS after Thursday night. Arizona has been in this spot now four times this year, and has covered each time, even winning outright last week against Dallas. And what fueled that comeback? The move to backup Gardner Minshew. He will start again this week, as the Cardinals shipped Jacoby Brissett off to Baltimore.

Seattle now turns to their backup in Drew Lock. Their offense has struggled considerably from their Super Bowl run last year, 23.1 PPG compared to 28.4 PPG. Given the spread and the game total, I’ll take the Cardinals to stay within the number.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-5) vs. Chicago Bears (6-2)

Chicago -6; O/U 47.5

Chicago -6 (-112)

We hit on this last week; the Bears are now 19-4-1 ATS in primetime games. Tampa Bay has won their last two games with Baker Mayfield returning, but he has attempted just 14 attempts, compared to 97 rush attempts by their running backs. The Bears rank third in the league in rush defense at 86.8 YPG. Jeffery Simmons was acquired from the Titans and made his Chicago debut last week, the same week Seattle welcomed back Jadarian Price and Zach Charbonnet. The Seattle running backs went for 61 yards on 17 carries (3.6 YPC). I think Chicago is a Super Bowl favorite and will rise up in another primetime spot.

Week 8 Teaser Parlay: 1-0 (+1.74 units)
YTD Teaser Parlay: 2-2 (+1.38 units)
Week 9 Teaser Parlay (1 unit): +185
Las Vegas/San Francisco Over 45.5
San Francisco: Team Total Over 25.5
Arizona +14.5
Chicago ML
Outright Underdogs (.5 Units):
Week 8: 1-0 (+0.71 units)
YTD: 3-5-1 (-0.40 units)
Washington vs. Los Angeles (N) +180

Los Angeles travels across country for a 10 AM local kick. The Rams offense was not great against the Chargers. Yes, they scored 24 points, but 10 came on drives of eight and 22 yards. Jayden Daniels came back and played the 49ers close. I think they can do the same with the Rams, and even pull the upset.
