2025 NFL Week 5 Best Bets
We now hit October and NFL season is heating up. Bye weeks start this week, and we now have the third international game, this time in London. The London game will be the first of three played in London. Here are my week 5 best bets in the NFL.

Week 4: 1-3 (-2.45 units)
Year to Date: 8-8 (-1.00 units)
Houston Texans (1-3) vs. Baltimore Ravens (1-3)
Baltimore +1.5; O/U 40.5
Houston -1.5 (-112)
Since 2021, the Ravens are 4-10 when Lamar Jackson is out of the lineup. The Ravens’ defense is bottom two in the league with Dallas in yards per game (406.8 YPG) and defensive scoring (33.3 PPG). Baltimore is depleted early in the year with injury issues. Meanwhile, the Texans have the best scoring defense (12.8 PPG) while playing two NFC playoff teams in the Rams and Buccaneers. I’m on the Texans to make Lamar’s replacement, Cooper Rush, struggle in his first start of the season.
Dallas Cowboys (1-2-1) vs. New York Jets (0-4)
New York +1.5; O/U 47.5
Over 47.5 (-115)
Two of the bottom five teams in defensive scoring square off at MetLife. The Jets have yet to force a turnover and have allowed at least 27 points in each contest. The Cowboys are without CeeDee Lamb, but managed to put up 40 points on a Packers defense looking for revenge for new teammate Micah Parsons. Prior to that Sunday night tie with Dallas, the Packers had allowed just 44 points total in their first three contests. Since the league kickoff game against the Eagles, the Cowboys have allowed at least 31 in each contest. This has the making to be the highest scoring game of the week five slate. I’m on the over in MetLife.
Kansas City Chiefs (2-2) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1)
Jacksonville +3.5; O/U 45.5
Under 45.5 (-108)
In three games where Trevor Lawrence has played a Steve Spagnuola defense three times in his career. Each of the three games went under, with Jacksonville averaging 15.3 PPG. The Chiefs found their groove last week, but it was against a Ravens’ defense that we already mentioned is at the bottom of the league. This Jaguars defense has shown more life this year. I’m on the under in the week 5 send off.
Outright Underdogs (.5 Units):
Week 4: 0-1 (-0.50 units)
Year to Date: 1-6 (-2.43 units)
New York vs. Dallas +105
Dallas has a bottom-five defense and will be without three offensive lineman. Lamb is also out for the Cowboys. The Jets are winless, but three of the four losses come against playoff teams from a year ago. The Jets are going to get someone, and I’m on them to get the better of Dallas this week.
Washington @ Los Angeles +130
The Commanders head west, but they get second year quarterback Jayden Daniels back after missing the last two weeks. The Chargers have been decimated to injuries, losing both tackles Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater. I’m on the Commanders to win in Daniels’ return.
