2024 NFL Week 9 Best Bets
Week 9 of the NFL season marks the official halfway point of the season. Some teams have Super Bowl aspirations, some are rebuilding, and others are fighting for their playoff lives. But the calendar turns to November, and we have another great NFL slate. Here are my favorite Week 9 NFL bets.

Week 8: 2-2 (-.24 units)
Year to Date: 17-15-1 (+.26 units)
Los Angeles Chargers (4-3) vs. Cleveland Browns (2-6)
Cleveland +1; O/U 42.5
Under 42.5 (-112)
The Under is 6-1 in Chargers games this year, with no total clearing 40 points. The Browns got an offensive boost last week with Jameis Winston as the starter, but this is a major upgrade in play on the defensive side of the ball. The Ravens rank in the bottom quarter of the league in defensive scoring and yards, while the Chargers are top-8, including the best defensive scoring defense (13.0 PPG). I like this one to fall under 40 once again.
Miami Dolphins (2-5) vs. Buffalo Bills (6-2)
Buffalo -6; O/U 49.5
Buffalo -6 (-112)
Josh Allen is 11-2 all time against the Dolphins with an average game margin of +14.5 PPG. Allen is completing 66.4% of his attempts, throwing for 34 touchdowns to seven interceptions. In the two games with Joe Brady, the Bills have scored 21 and 31 points, respectively. It will only be Tua’s second game back from another devastating concussion, and he has not faired well against the Bills in his career (1-7; seven touchdowns to 10 interceptions). The Dolphins average just 18.8 PPG (1-4) with Mike McDaniel against the Bills. I like Buffalo to win this one by more than a touchdown.
Indianapolis Colts (4-4) vs. Minnesota Vikings (5-2)
Minnesota -5; O/U 46.5
Indianapolis +5 (-110)
The Colts are the best team ATS this year at 7-1. No game for the Colts this year has been decided by more than six points. And while there are question marks about their future after benching Anthony Richardson, Flacco currently puts the Colts in the best chance to compete. There was questions of losing the locker room if Shane Steichen didn’t make the move. I think the Colts keep this one close and potentially could pull the upset against the Vikings on Sunday night.
Outright Underdogs (.5 Units):
Week 8: 0-1 (-.5 units)
Year to Date: 4-10 (-2.24 units)
New England @ Tennessee +140
These are two of the worst teams in the league, but I’ll take the points and plus-value with the Patriots. Drake Maye has cleared concussion protocol and will get the start for the Patriots. The Patriots showed life last week in their win against the Jets. I think they can make it two straight this week by beating the Titans.
