2021 Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft (1QB)

We have hit peak dynasty season, rookie fever has arrived. This is the most important time in dynasty fantasy football, as you need to take in as much information as possible and formulate a draft strategy. Fantasy players who don’t watch college football and even for the most seasoned college football watchers, mock drafts are a key piece of this puzzle.

Using knowledge I have gained from watching countless hours of film, I will provide a way to early one man rookie mock draft. Using The Draft Network’s NFL mock draft from Brentley Weissman, I have put together a two round 12-team one Quaterback PPR 2021 dynasty rookie mock draft. Im super excited to dive into this, lets get into it!

Round 1

1.01- NAJEE HARRIS- RUNNING BACK-BUFFALO BILLS (SELECTED PICK 30TH OVERALL)

Harris would bring a toughness to the Bills offense lacks in its run game, allowing quarterback Josh Allen to protect himself more. Harris’s game would fit in perfectly to Dabolls offense, he will feed off light boxes, as the Bills tend to run many three or four spread WR sets. Along with the fact Harris is one of the best pass catching backs in this class, all things would be set up to have a fantastic rookie campaign.

1.02- JAVONTE WILLIAMS- RUNNING BACK- ARIZONA CARDINALS (SELECTED 48TH OVERALL)

Arizona is a great landing spot for Williams as he would provide an edge to their air raid offense. He would be the perfect mix of Drake and Edmonds. With his very good pass catching back, Kingsbury will be able to use him in the passing game. Williams should take over the lead role as a three down back in what could become a very potent offense.

1.03- KYLE PITTS – TIGHTEND – CINCINNATI BENGALS (SELECTED PICK 5TH OVERALL)

One of the most prolific pass catching tightends to come from the college ranks this decade. His addition to an offense that already has playmakers like Tyler Boyd, Tee Higgins, and Joe Mixon, is a scary thought. Pitts 6-6″ frame could become a great safety outlet for Burrow in what should be many negative game scripts in 2021.

1.04- JA’ MARR CHASE- WIDE RECEIVER- PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (SELECTED PICK 6TH OVERALL)

This Tigers dynamic play making ability would be a breath of fresh air to Eagles fans. He would have the opportunity to be a day one starter in this offense. His physicality and ability to win one on one will help him become a favorite target for Jalen Hurts. Then add on the YAC ability Chase brings to the table and things look bright for a solid rookie season.

1.05- RASHOD BATEMAN- WIDE RECEIVER- CHICAGO BEARS (SELECTED 20TH OVERALL)

This gopher will give the Bears a prototypical NFL alpha wide receiver as he stands 6-2″ and 210 pounds. His physicality and ability to be open even when there is little to no  separation will be his quarterbacks dream. He will have a clear shot at landing the lead role in this offense as Allen Robinson is expected to leave in Free Agency. He will be setup to have a huge opportunity in his rookie season.

1.06-DEVONTA SMITH- WIDE RECEIVER – NEW YORK GIANTS (SELECTED 11TH OVERALL)

The heisman winner finally comes off the board here. He may be the hardest working player in the class but his size is concerning at the next level, the hope is he adds on five or so pounds. Smith is one of the smartest and most skilled receivers in the class, with a clear path to taking over the wide receiver room in New York, big things can be expected from him.

1.07- JAYLEN WADDLE- WIDE RECEIVER- MIAMI DOLPHINS (SELECTED 8TH OVERALL)

Possibly the most explosive player in this draft, Waddle will bring a nice flair to an offense that lacks it. His route running and YAC ability will help him succeed in the NFL. He will have a rapor with Tua already from their days in Alabama together. Waddle can find himself in a key slot roll in this offense, while possibly become Tua’s favorite target.

1.08- TRAVIS ETIENNE- RUNNING BACK- NEW YORK JETS (SELECTED 23RD OVERALL)

This tiger will have a great situation with a fairly clear path to the starting role only needing to beat out Perine and Johnson. Etienne could find himself busy if fellow rookie Fields struggles in the passing game, and the Jets could need to lean on the run game. With all the Jets negative game scripts that seem unavoidable, we can expect Etienne to provide a large role in the passing game as well, but Fields rushing ability could hamper this.

1.09- TREVOR LAWERENCE – QUARTERBACK-JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (SELECTED PICK 1ST OVERALL)

Lawerence is still the best Quarterback in the draft. He has all the tools to succeed at the next level, add that in to the Urban Meyer spread style offense along with all the weapons he will have in Chark, Shenualt, and Robinson. He has no greater chance for success than anyone else in this draft class.

1.10- TERRACE MARSHALL- WIDE RECEIVER- DETROIT LIONS (SELECTED 39TH OVERALL)

The forgotten tiger in a high octane offense at LSU, he should not be forgotten about in rookie drafts though. His 6-3″, 200 pound frame is the prototypical alpha frame. This landing spot would give him clear shot at a lead role on a team as they only roster one unproven NFL receiver. This rebuilding team will have many negative game scripts, requiring more passing volume.

Fantasy football

1.11- RONDALE MOORE- WIDE RECEIVER- NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (SELECTED 47TH OVERALL)

The mighty mouse of the draft class could become New Englands new Julian Edelman. He is a versatile player who has game breaking speed along with a physical edge. He can be used in the run game and the passing game and be equally as effective. Although injuries are a concern in his young college career, his high upside is too much to ignore in this landing spot.

1.12- TYLAN WALLACE- WIDE RECEIVER- KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (SELECTED 63RD OVERALL)

This tough cowboy will bring an edge to a wide receiver room full of speed. He will be paired with Mahomes and Reid for most of his young career, this is never a bad thing. His strong hands and ability to be open no matter the amount of separation could find himself as a favorite target of Mahomes. He will also provide them another redzone target to take some pressure off of Travis Kelce.

Round 2

2.01- AMON RA ST. BROWN- WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM (SELECTED 76TH OVERALL)

You know what they say about the younger sibling, and they are right in this case. Amon is a much better prospect than Equanimeous, he is a better route runner and has a great ability to track the ball in the air. Landing in Washington will allow him to play second fiddle to Scary Terry, allowing him to prey on the second corner for most defenses.

2.02- JUSTIN FIELDS – QUARTERBACK-NEW YORK JETS (SELECTED PICK 2ND OVERALL)

The Buckeye quarterback will provide a safe rushing floor for fantasy football with huge passing upside as he is one of the best deep ball throwers in this class. Now add in new offensive weapons predicted to be added in this draft later on along with a new OC in New York who is from the Shannan coaching tree, all things look great for Fields to succeed!

2.03- KENNETH GAINWELL- RUNNING BACK- PITTSBURGH STEELERS (SELECTED 87TH OVERALL)

This bottle of lighting will add some serious juice to a running back room that could use a shot in the arm. He lacks the size of a prototypical lead back but his big play ability will be welcomed in an offense that has failed to get any since the departure of Levon Bell. He should be able to find a lead roll, as there is little competition from guys who have proven they cant handle that role.

2.04- PAT FREIERMUTH- TIGHTEND- NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (SELECTED 60TH OVERALL)

This Nitnay Lion will be a fine second option if you miss on Pitts in round one. Any tightend in a Peyton offense is worth owning, the lack of certainty at quarterback is no concern to me. His good blocking and solid receiving talent will allow him to have bright future in the NFL. He will turn into a fine second option to Micheal Thomas, and he will become a great redzone target.

2.05- ELIJAH MOORE- WIDE RECEIVER- INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (SELECTED 53RD OVERALL)

This red rebel turned colt will help provide a solid security blanket for newly acquired Wentz. His crisp route running and ability to create separation laterally will be a problem for linebackers and slot corners alike. He will have an opportunity right away to create a large role in a wide receiver room that is full of unproven NFL talent.

2.06-MICHEAL CARTER- RUNNING BACK- TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (SELECTED 64TH OVERALL)

The Tar Heel running back would be the second running back selected in as many years for the Bucs. With Fournette most likely leaving in free agency there will be an opening for Carter to compete for a lead role. Ronald Jones will be the only real threat to carters playing time, however Carter proved an ability to be hyper-productive in a split role at UNC.

2.07- BREVIN JORDAN- TIGHTEND- JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (SELECTED 65TH OVERALL)

This Hurricane will get to stay in the state of Florida, along with being added to what is expected to be a high octane offense in Jacksonville. He is one of the best all around tighteneds in this class he has a great ability to block, but has an even better ability to be effective in the passing attack. Pairing him with Lawerence will help give the Jaguars a shot in the arm and wake up a team that was so close to the super bowl just a few years ago.

2.08- NICO COLLINS- WIDE RECEIVER- MIAMI DOLPHINS (SELECTED 50TH OVERALL)

One of the most slept on Wovlerines in this class, he will bring good size and physicality to the Dolphins wide receiver room. He does a great job of leveraging out defensive backs, this allows him to be open even if he appears not to be. He does lack game breaking speed but he could carve out a role like Michel Thomas has in New Orleans as a reliable target in the mid level passing game.

2.09- DYAMI BROWN- WIDE RECEIVER- LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (SELECTED 97TH OVERALL)

The Tar Heel deep threat will become one of Herberts favorite targets! Although he is much more than a speedy deep threat, he will be allowed to play second fiddle to Kenan Allen, while learning from one of the best route runners in the game. The offense will look very different in LA this season as they brought in an offensive coordinator who ranked 9th and 12th the past two seasons in pass attempts. Things will be setup for Brown to excel early in his career!

2.10- TREY SERMON-RUNNINGBACK-MIAMI DOLPHINS (SELECTED 81ST OVERALL)

Sermon will bring a big bodied back to the Dolphins backfield to be paired with Gaskin. I see them splitting carries to start and Sermon would see the short yardage and Goal line work the most. He may be Touchdown dependent somewhat but in this senario I see him being fantasy relevant.

2.11- AMARI RODGERS-WIDE RECEIVER- NEW YORK JETS (SELECTED 66TH OVERALL)

Rodgers will be added to fellow  young gun Denzel Mims, Travis Etienne, and Justin Fields. If the rumors are true and the jets move on from Crowder, Rodgers would slot right in as their new slot receiver. A very talent route runner and speedster will give the Jets a slight jump start in their short to mid range passing game. Fields could develop a liking to this great slot weapon, if so he will be a PPR machine.

2.12- SETH WILLIAMS-WIDE RECEIVER-BALTIMORE RAVENS(SELECTED 104TH OVERALL)

I don’t love the landing spot here for Williams, but I’m going on talent over landing spot. Williams has the size and abilities to become a true Alpha receiver in the NFL. He didn’t produce crazy numbers in college due to poor quarterback play. Hopefully Lamar can develop into a better outside thrower to be able to use this new weapon effectively. His ability to high point the ball and win in contested catches will help the ravens in the redzone, leading to a possible touchdown dependency.
