Showdown Captain mode is a DraftKings tournament where you have $50,000 to create a lineup using 6 players from a standalone single game. One of those players will be your captain. The captain costs 1.5 times their salary and will accumulate 1.5 times the points. As with every slate, GAME THEORY IS INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT. Even more so in Showdown, you want your lineup to tell a story of how the game will go. There are a lot of options based on how you see the game going but ALWAYS make sure there’s correlation between your players.

Injuries to Monitor
Mike Evans has an ankle injury
Julio Jones is still dealing with the knee injury that has kept him out for three games. He’s listed as a game time decision.
Russell Gage is dealing with a hamstring injury and has been unable to practice. He’s been ruled out.
Cameron Brate has a concussion and neck injury and will be out for this game.
Mark Andrews is dealing with a sore knee that has kept him out of practice. He should suit up but may not be 100%.
Rashod Bateman is dealing with a foot injury that kept him out for a couple games he was able to return last week but hasn’t been practicing so its worth monitoring.
Overview
The Ravens finally held a 4th quarter lead to win on Sunday against the Browns. They’ll now head to Tampa on a short week to face the Buccaneers who just got embarrassed by the Panthers. They were only able to muster a field goal in the game and have only scored one TD in their last two games.
It’ll be interesting to see if either offense can get going or if both teams come out conservative trying to get a win on a short week. While I don’t see this being a storing bonanza I do believe both sides will move the ball a bit.
I WON’T be playing Lamar at captain. It’s risky but I think he’s easily the most used captain and he’ll need to get there in the passing game as well to pay off. If he’s doing well in the passing game Andrews has to be involved and I’d rather take the savings with him at captain. With that being said if Andrews knee becomes a concern I would go back to Lamar at Captain.
My captain options are Evans who can break any slate, Fournette who gets so much work and goaline opportunities and Mark Andrews who has such a dominant target share he can get there with or without Lamar. Both kickers are flex plays but I wouldn’t pair them with their respective RBs since their so TD reliant especially Gus Edwards. I’ll sprinkle some of the defenses but not really making them a focal point.
Captain/Flex
Mike Evans $16,500/$11,000
Last week Evans just missed on a walk in 64 yard TD as he had the ball bounce off his hands. He had 15 tatgets, nine receptions and 96 yards in the game. He’s averaging 13.7 yards per reception.
Mark Andrews $13,800/$9,200
Tampa is bottom ten in points allowed to the TE. They’ve allowed the most TDs to TEs over the last four weeks. Andrews has the 10th most receptions and the 3rd most receiving TDs in the NFL. He has a healthy 31% target share.
Leonard Fournette $13,200/$8,800
The Ravens have allowed the 4th most receptions to RBs. Fournette has the 3rd most targets and receptions among RBs. He’s also tied for the most receiving TDs among RBs.
The Rest
Lamar Jackson $17,700/$11,800
Lamar was on fire out the gate but has come back to earth recently. He hasn’t thrown over 230 yards or multiple TDs in five straight games. What he offers with his legs still gives him a safe floor as well as some upside. He’s averaged 9.4 carries per game.
Tom Brady $10,000
Brady only has one game throwing multiple TDs. He’s thrown an average of 48.25 attempts over the last four games. Throwing is the way to attack the Ravens who are bottom four in passing yards allowed and bottom five in passing TDs allowed.
Chris Godwin $9,000
The Ravens have allowed the 5th most receptions to WRs this season which is good for Godwin who’s had at least six receptions in four straight games. He’s averaged 10.25 targets in those games. I’ll use him at captain in a few larger field contests. He’s yet to have a blow up game but is more than capable and it could provide leverage on Evans and Fournette Captain lineups.
Gus Edwards $7,600
In his first game in over a year, Edwards had 16 carries. They didn’t exactly ease him back in. He should be the clear front runner for touches with Dobbins out. The Bucs have been stout against the run but allowed the Carolina backs to run for 181 yards last week averaging 7.5 yards per carry.
Rashod Bateman $7,000
Devin Duvernay $6,400
Outside of Andrews the Ravens pass catchers are a bit capped from an upside standpoint. Lamar will need to throw more to change that. I wouldn’t use either guy without Lamar in the lineup. With that being said, on a one game slate both WRs have flashed big play upside with Bateman having the safer floor due to target volume.
Cade Otten $5,000
Otten is averaging four catches and 10.8 yards per reception over the last three games. Without Brate in the lineup,, Otten has played 94 and 81% of snaps. Baltimore has allowed the 3rd most TDs to the TE.
Rachaad White $4,800
White has at least seven touches in three straight games. His involvement in the passing game gives him a bit of a floor on a one game slate. He’s had at least three receptions in three games.
Kenyon Drake $4,600
Drake has back to back weeks with at least 11 touches. Last week he had 11 carries for only 5 yard but had 119 yards the week before. He’s a very volatile option but definitely an option on a slate lacking value.
Scotty Miller $3,200
Miller isn’t really involved much and I’d really only use him if Gage is out.
Demarcus Robinson $2,800
The return of Bateman essentially made Robinson worthless. Similar to Miller it would take a WR to miss for me to consider him.
Justice Hill $2,400
Hill will likely see the least touches of the RB committee but should see some touches. Knowing he’ll at least touch the ball makes him viable with the lack of value on this slate especially since he’s averaged 6.3 yards per carry.
DeSean Jackson $2,000
This one is risky because Jackson could see no work but his big play upside makes him a cheap dart throw in larger fields.
Isaiah Likely $1,600
Likely hasnt been very involved only catching more than two balls once this season. If Andrews is limited or out he becomes very interesting at such a low price.
Breshad Perriman $1,200
Taking a chance on DJax is risky but the same case can be made for Perriman. If he’s playing he should see targets and is averaging 14.8 yards per reception. The Tampa WRs are all banged up so Perriman could even see an increased roll and would be a smash play at this price.
