Cash games take a bit of a different approach. We only need to finish in the top half of finishing positions. The goal is to get the safest floor with a bit of upside for the cheapest price. Ownership is an afterthought. I tend to look for the most guaranteed touches from the RBs and WR. A floor is just as important as a players upside in cash. If there’s value on the slate at WR I’ll play the top RBs otherwise I’m looking for the most touches in the mid range. Cash games are a great way to build your bankroll and stay profitable long term.
I will say that you should ALWAYS enter your cash lineups into a GPP. Believe me it is not fun coming 1st in a double up and winning the same amount as the person who came in 2,000th when you would’ve won a GPP.
QB
I’m personally playing Minshew the salary savings is just too good.
Patrick Mahomes $8,400
Mahomes has at least 40 passing attempts and 320 yards in three of his last four games. He’s thrown for three or more TDs seven times this season.
Gardner Minshew $4,800
Minshew started two games last season and threw two TDs in both games. He was perfectly serviceable and that was without a receiver the caliber of AJ Brown. The Cowboys have allowed the 3rd most passing TDs over the last six weeks.
RB
Christian McCaffrey $8,800
McCaffrey has an elite workload especially with Deebo out of the lineup. Over the last three weeks he’s averaged 24.3 touches. He has the 2nd most receptions and receiving yards among RBs over the last six weeks.
Derrick Henry $8,600
You’ll hear the narrative that Henry just destroys the Texans and goes for 200+ yards every time. That’s fine but first let’s just focus on how great his workload is. He has the most carries in the NFL. He’s averaged 21.1 carries this year and has a career high in TDs. He’ll likely finish the season with more receptions than he’s had in the any two previous seasons combined. Now we can talk about how the Texans have allowed almost 200 more rushing yards than any other team and a league high 17 rushing TDs.
Dalvin Cook $7,200
This price is too cheap for the work he’s been getting. He’s averaged 18.5 carries over hisblast four games. Last week he exploded for 190 yards from scrimmage. Over the last six weeks the Giants have allowed 5.3 yards per carry and a league high eight rushing TDs.
Jerick McKinnon $5,900
It may feel like chasing a bit but McKinnon has been heavily involved. He has at least seven receptions and eight targets in back to back weeks. Has totaled 172 receiving yards in those games. He also has five TDs in his last three games. He’s getting goaline work on top of it and is sub $6k.
WR
Justin Jefferson $9,300
Jefferson leads the league in receptions and receiving yards. He’s averaging 14.6 yards per reception, has a 29.7% target share and has been targeted on a ridiculous 27.3% of his routes run.
Amon Ra St Brown $7,800
Brown has had back to back “disappointing” games. He still caught at least six balls in both of them. Over the last six weeks he has the 2nd most receptions and has a 30% target share. The Panthers have allowed the 4th most receptions to opposing WRs this season.
DK Metcalf $7,100
Metcalf has a 26% target share, has been targeted on an impressive 26.2% of his routes run and has an average depth of target of 10.9 yards. He’s averaged 10.2 targets over his last five games. The Chiefs have allowed the most TDs to opposing WRs this season.
DJ Moore $5,500
Moore got injured against Seattle but in his previous two games he had a total of 176 yards and scored a TD in both games. The Lions have allowed the most receiving yards to opposing WRs over the last six weeks.
Richie James $3,900
James has at least 40 yards and a TD in three of hisblast five games. The Vikings have allowed the most receptions and 2nd most receiving yards to opposing WRs this season.
TE
TE is an absolute disaster this week there really aren’t any pay down options.
TJ Hockenson $4,900
Hockenson is averaging 8.1 targets and 5.6 catches per game since joining the Vikings. The Giants have been terrible against TEs and this game has the 2nd highest total on the slate.
Daniel Bellinger $3,300
Bellinger has been playing the bulk of the snaps and is one of the few pay down options that is actually heavily involved and in a good game environment.
DEF
WAS $2,400
CAR $2,300
