Week 13 Draftkings Thursday Showdown Preview

It’s Week 13 already and it’s been an interesting season to this point. There are injuries mounting and Covid cases on the rise. These next few weeks could get chaotic. Thursday Night is interesting with Mike McCarthy testing positive for Covid, Dan Quinn will lead the Cowboys when they face the Saints.

This game could be slower paced with Taysom Hill starting and the Saints relying more on the run game. For that reason I like Taysom and Mark Ingram. Even if Kamara plays, I likely won’t play him. It’ll be hard to fade him but there has to be concerns about his health, playing time and production with Hill under center. I’ll probably go the same route with Cooper if he plays. The fact that he’s been out that long and still doesn’t feel 100% can’t bode well for his conditioning or potential snap share. Dak, Ceedee and the RBs will be my highest owned Cowboys. I think pairing Zeke with Pollard is an interesting way to differentiate your lineup.

Injuries to Monitor

Alvin Kamara has logged limited practices this week as he hopes to return from an MCL injury. He is listed as questionable and could miss his fourth straight game.

Ezekiel Elliott is dealing with knee soreness/stiffness. There’s been talk of limiting his workload which Jerry Jones quickly disparaged. Zeke hasn’t missed practice but the situation is definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Amari Cooper has missed the last two games due to Covid. He’s apparently still dealing with symptoms and could miss his third game in a row.

Cedrick Wilson has missed practice with an ankle injury and is questionable for this game.

Captain/Flex

Dak Prescott
$17,700/$11,800

Dak has thrown for multiple TDs in eight of ten games this season. He’s averaging 22.6 DraftKings points per game. The Saints are bottom 10 in passing yards allowed.

Taysom Hill
$14,400/$9,600

Hill had eight rushing TDs last year and averaged over five yards a carry. He threw multiple TDs in two games as well. He will likely be the highest owned player in this slate but could be the bulk of the Saints offense so I’m in.

Ceedee Lamb
$15,000/$10,000

Lamb has the 4th most receiving TDs this year. He’s averaging 15 yards per reception. The Saints allow the 5th most yards per reception.

Mark Ingram
$7,500/$5,000

Fantasy football

This price makes no sense. Ingram has had 40 touches in the last two games with at least seven targets in each game. The presence of Hill could open some running lanes for him. Dallas has allowed the seventh most rushing yards per game.

The Rest

Ezekiel Elliott $10,800

Elliott has had at least 15 touches in the last three games despite being banged up. He’s averaging 18 touches per game. Zeke can be used as a captain in larger field tournaments. The concerns about his knee will keep his ownership down and he could still be the highest scoring player.

Dalton Schultz $7,600

Schultz had back to back games with at least seven targets. Granted that was without Lamb & Cooper but he is still a larger part of this offense. Schultz should see his season average for targets which is six.

Tony Pollard
$7,800

With injury concerns with Zeke, Pollard will see a solid workload. He’s had at least 10 touches in seven games this season. He’s averaging 5.3 yards per carry.

Michael Gallup $6,800

Gallup has 18 targets the last two games averaging 15 yards a catch. If Cooper can’t go he’ll be guaranteed a healthy target share. If Cooper does play it could take some defensive attention away and will absolutely lower his ownership.

Marquez Calloway $6,400
Tre’Quan Smith $5,600

With Hill under center, the targets could be diminished. Calloway offers the big play ability while Smith likely has a higher floor. With so much attention on Hill at the goal line, I could see one of them getting an easy TD.

Cedrick Wilson $4,800

In the last two weeks, Wilson took advantage of an increased snap share especially last week topping 100 receiving yards.

Greg Zuerlein $4,200

Looking for value on this slate and it thins out quick. Zuerlein has scored 10 or more points in five games this season.  He’s made multiple field goals in seven games.

Nick Vannett $3,600

Vannett is barely used, he did however score a TD last week. With little value on this slate you can take a shot on him scoring again.

Tony Jones Jr $1,400

Jones was very ineffective last week on his 16 carries. If Kamara is out he will get some carries and some targets. It’s rare to get guaranteed touches at this low of a price.
