Week 10 Draftkings Thursday Showdown Preview
Week 10 kicks off with the Baltimore Ravens heading to Miami to face the Dolphins. The Ravens have won a number of close games against lesser competition. Last week they pulled out an overtime win against the Vikings. It was their third overtime game of the year. The Dolphins beat the hapless Texans but didn’t look good doing it and will likely be without Tua on a short week.
There are three players on each team that you can comfortably play with the Ravens side being the preferred options. Lamar, Marquise and Mark Andrews are the clear best plays. Gesicki, Waddle and Gaskin have proved to be reliable of late for the Dolphins. A key piece of determining the other plays hinges in Sammy Watkins status. If he plays it will be the first time both him and Bateman have played together and it will be interesting to see how the targets are allocated. Lamar is the clear play and will likely be 90 percent owned in most contests. He is expensive though and roster construction is limited if he’s used as captain. I’ll likely have Andrews or Gesicki as captain in a lot of lineups. I’ll be underweight on Marquise Brown hoping Howard can limit his upside. Underweight on Brown but not fading him. I am fading Brissett, there just isn’t enough upside to justify his price.
Injuries to Monitor
Tua Tagovailoa has a fractured middle finger on his left hand that kept him from starting last game. There’s a good chance that he is an emergency backup again thisbweek.
Latavius Murray is dealing with an ankle injury that has kept him out of the last two games. He’s been absent from practice so far this week. He’s listed as questionable but it looks like he’ll miss another game.
Sammy Watkins has been out for three weeks with a thigh injury. He’s had limited practices and the Ravens are hoping to have him back. He’s likely a game time decision.

Captain/Flex
Lamar Jackson
$20,700/$13,800
Last week Lamar had 21 carries for 120 yards and added another 266 passing yards and 3 passing TDs. He’s averaged 75 rushing yards and 24.26 DraftKings points a game. The Dolphins have allowed the most passing yards and 3rd most passing TDs.
Marquise Brown
$16,500/$11,000
Brown is 4th in Air yards and has a 25 percent target share. He’s had 26 targets in the last two games alone. Miami has given up the most receiving yards this year which bodes well for Brown’s 14.5 yard average depth of target.
Mark Andrews
$13,200/$8,800
In the last two games combined Andrews has had 17 targets. He has the 2nd most receiving yards for TEs. And you’ll notice a trend when advocating for Ravens pass catchers. Miami is the worst in the league in passing yards allowed.
Mike Gesicki
$11,100/$7,400
Gesicki has the 4th most targets for TEs and over half of his targets are from Jacoby Brissett who will likely be starting in this game. The Ravens give up the 2nd most points per game to TEs and are bottom 10 in receiving yards allowed.
The Rest
Myles Gaskin $9,400
Gaskin has four TDs in his last five games and averaged 16.4 touches in those games. The Ravens have given up at least 100 yards rushing in four of their last five games. They’ve given up 4 rushing TDs over that span.
Jaylen Waddle $8,200
Waddle has 22 targets over the last two games. Brissett continues to target Waddle close to the line and we’ve yet to see Waddle break a long one which hes more than capable of. The Ravens have been up and down defensively. They’ve allowed under 200 passing yards in half their games and over 340 in the other half.
Rashod Bateman $5,800
Sammy Watkins $5,600
There’s not much clarity here since we haven’t seen these two on the field together. Bateman has played well and averaged just under 7 targets through his first three games. When Watkins was healthy he averaged 7.25 targets a game. It really is a coin flip as to who will see the bulk of the opportunities. I do lean Bateman but I think most people will so you could see an ownership discount with Watkins.
Ravens Def $4,400
The Ravens defense hasn’t been great of late but the Dolphins offensive line has been much worse. The Texans defense had four sacks and two interceptions last week. The TEXANS defense scored 15 points against this offense. Think about that.
Devonta Freeman $6,600
Leveon Bell $5,400
It is in the realm of possibility that these two do the bulk of the TD scoring. If you play them that’s what you’re banking on. I’ll sprinkle them in on the off chance one of them falls in the endzone twice but will be more invested in the passing game.
Mack Hollins $4,200
In the last three games without Parker, Hollins has had 60 yards or a TD. He’s had14 targets in those games.
Salvon Ahmed $1,200
Last week Ahmed had four carries but in the prior three games he had at seven carries and no less than 1 catch in each.
